MATERIALS

Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine 131yrd/50g, DK / 8 ply (11 wpi) in three colors, US 2½ - 3  double pointed needles, yarn needle, 
Norwegian Knitting Thimble that is worn on the finger and used to control tension, eliminate chaffing or control multiple strands of yarn.

St= stitch

K=knit stitch

P=purl stitch

Yo=yarn over

K2tog=knit two stitches together

K3tog= change places of the 1st and 2nd st, sl1, K2tog, psso

P2tog=purl two stitches together

Sl1=slip one stitch

Psso=pass the slipped stitch over

INSTRUCTIONS

This cap is worked in the round. It can be made in different sizes by varying the yarn and needle size.

Rnd 1: Cast on 120 stitches. Join for knitting in the round and place marker.

Rnd 2-14: *K2, P2* till the end of Rnd.

Rnd 15: K all stitches

Rnd 6:  K all sts
Rnd 7: *K7, K2tog*, repeat from* to* (80 sts rem)
Rnd 8:  K all sts
Rnd 9: *K6, K2tog*, repeat from* to* (70 sts rem)
Rnd 10:  K all sts

Rnd 11: *K5, K2tog*, repeat from* to* (60 sts rem)

Rnd 12:  K all sts

FINISHING

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail, and with blunt needle thread tail through remaining stitches, slipping stitches off the needles. Pull tight to gather hole closed, and sew to inside of hat. Weave in all ends.
