Cup "Helper"

Materials:

– Any cotton yarn 100 g /400 m.

– 1,5mm crochet hook

– a needle, a pair of scissors, hollow fibre stuffing, 2 half round flat back beads to make eyes, transparent all purpose glue,  30 cm  long wire segment,  a piece of rectangular shape plastic sheet.

Abbreviations:

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

inc – increase

dec - decrease, two single crochets together

Cup

1. Crochet 6 sc in a magic ring

2. 6 inc = 12 sc

3. (1 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 18 sc

4. (2 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 24 sc

5. (3 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 30 sc

6. (4 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 36 sc

7. (5 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 42 sc

8. (6 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 48 sc

9. (7 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 54 sc

10. (8 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 60 sc

11. (9 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 66 sc

12 – 41. 66 sc

42. 20 sc, 10 ch, 10 sc skip, 36 sc = 66

43 – 51. 66

52. (9 sc, 1 dec) х 6 = 60

53. (8 sc, 1 dec) х 6 = 54

Bind off. Cut off any excess thread.

Add thread to the resulting hole to the bottom line.

1, 2. 2 sc, 6 hdc, 2 sc,  ch, turn

Bind off. Cut off any excess thread.

Arms x 2

5 ch

1. Starting from 2nd ch from the hook 3 sc, 3 in 1, 3sc, 3 in 1 = 12

2 – 13. 12 sc

Bind off. Leave  a small piece of thread for further sewing.

Eyes x 2 (white colour)

1. Crochet 6 sc in a magic ring

2. 6 inc = 12 sc

3. (1 sc, 1 inc) х 6 = 18 sc

4. (5 sc, 1 inc) х 3 = 21 sc

5 – 7. 21 sc

8. 15 sc, 3 inc = 18 sc

9. 14 sc, 2 inc = 16 sc

10. 12 sc, 2 inc = 14 sc

11. 10 sc, 2 inc = 12 sc

12. 8 sc, 2 inc = 10 sc

13. 6 sc, 2 inc = 8 sc

Stuff lightly.

14. 4 sc, 2 inc = 6 sc

Bind off. Leave a small piece of thread for further sewing.

Mark the placement of the hands. Now, the wire to pass from the inside of the cup, lead into the hand. Bend and reinsert the inside of the cup. Sew the first hand.

Inside the cup, pull the wire to the second hand. Make like the first hand and pull the wire inside the cup again. Sew the second hand. Inside the wire tie with adhesive tape. See photo.

Cut out a circle from the plastic to the size of the resulting bottom of the glass. I have a diameter of about 6.5 cm.

And a rectangle (I got 20 x 10 cm). Inside, place a rectangle of plastic and mark the place of the slit with a pencil.

Place the plastic parts inside. Make sure that the slots match.

Sew the eyes on.

Glue the beads onto the whites of the eyes.

Your new helper is ready. He can hold pencils or hooks for you. Or just a fun friend on your desk.
