Funny little radish

Materials:
Cotton or acrylic yarn. Yarn of the following colours is required: light pink, bright pink, a small amount of white and green.
I used cotton, 330 m/ 100 g. For eyes and leaves, the yarn is slightly thinner – 425 m/100g.
The height of my radish is 12 cm.
- A crochet hook, I used 1,25 mm crochet hook
- Hollow fiber
- A piece of wire approx. 1,0 mm thick and 60 cm long
- A piece of wire approx. 2,0 mm thick and 15 cm long
- A sewing needle
- Transparent glue
- 2 beads
- Red and pink pieces of felt for the mouth
- Adhesive fabric tape/plaster

Abbreviations:
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet

inc – increase (2 sc in 1 st)
dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together)

Head - Body
Start with light pink colour yarn.
1) 6 sc in a Magic Ring

Fasten the light pink thread off, cut off.

Measure the width of the finished part. I got 5 cm. For the legs, take 2 pieces of thick wire (I used 2 mm in diam) that’s 1.5 times longer than the part. I got 7.5 cm.
For the arms, take 2 pieces of thin wire (I used 1 mm in diam) that’s 4 times longer than the part. I got 20 cm. Bend the wire in half.

At this stage, we will crochet the arms and legs.
Leg (make 2)
Crochet with light pink colour yarn.
Work 4 ch
1) starting from 2nd ch from hook: 2 sc, 4 sc in the last stitch, continue along the other side of chain: 1 sc, inc (9)
2) inc, 1 sc, inc х 4 times, 1 sc, inc х 2 times (16)

Make a loop on the end of the wire. The length of the leg should equal to the length of the foot. Wrap some adhesive fabric tape around the loop.
3) 16 sc
4) 4 sc, dec х 4 times, 4 sc (12)

Insert the wire into the legs. 
5) dec х 6 times (6)

Cut off yarn, leave a tail for further operation. Pull off loops around the wire.
Apply some transparent glue onto the half of the wire and make neat wraps around it with yarn.

Arm (make 2)
Crochet with light pink colour yarn.
1) 5 sc in a Magic Ring
2) inc х 5 times (10)
3-4) 10 sc
5) (1 sc, dec)х 3 times, 1 sc (7)

Insert the wire into the arms. Cut off yarn, leave a tail for further operation. Pull off loops around the wire.
Apply some transparent glue onto the half of the wire and make neat wraps around it with yarn.

Insert your arms and legs in the marked places. Twist the ends of the wires together. Wrap some adhesive fabric tape around those. 

Continue crocheting the radish.

Crochet with green colour yarn.

1) starting from 2nd ch from hook: 8 sc, 4 hdc, 2 dc, 7 dc in the last stitch, continue along the other side of chain: 2 dc, 4 hdc, 7 sc, inc (36)

Now crochet the cloves of a leaf
2) 1st clove of a leaf: 1 sl st, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc in 1 loop; 1 hdc and 1 sc in 1 loop; 1 sl st, 

2nd clove of a leaf: 1 sc, (2 dc in 1 loop)х 2 times; 1 hdc and 1 sc in 1 loop; 1 sl st,

Top clove of a leaf: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc in 1 loop; 1 dc, 2 dc in 1 loop; 1 hdc, (2 hdc in 1 loop) х 2 times, 1 hdc, 2 dc in 1 loop; 1 dc, 2 dc in 1 loop; 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sl st, 

3rd clove of a leaf: 1 hdc and 1 sc in 1 loop; (2 dc in 1 loop)х 2 times; 1 sc, 1 sl st,
4th clove of a leaf: 1 hdc and 1 sc in 1 loop; 2 dc in 1 loop; 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sl st (52)

Prepare 2 pieces of thin wire, each about 1.5 times the length of a leaf. Apply some transparent glue onto the half of the wire and make neat wraps around it with yarn. Let dry.

Then apply a wire to the middle of the leaf, departing from the upper tip of 1-1,5 cm, and sew with a thread or split yarn. Stitches are laid in the same direction as the winding.

Twist the ends of the wire together, apply some glue and insert them into the opening in the head. Leave to dry. Pull off the pink colour loops. 

Eyes (make 2)
Crochet with white colour yarn

Pull off the loops. Cut the thread, hide the end. Do not add the hollow fiber!
Slide the initial ring a little bit forward and the end of the work backward. See the pictures for guidance.

Sew or glue on the eyes. Glue or sew on a bead for the eye.

Cut out the mouth and a small tongue from the felt. Glue the mouth on. The mouth can be embroidered.

Embroider the eyebrows.
