«Flower of Celosia» brooch

Materials:

– Kartopu Yumurcak 100 gr /95 m or any alternative type fluffy yarn

– YarnArt begonia 50 gr /169 m, Gazzal city 100 gr /450 m

– a sewing needle, a pair of scissors, glue, beads,  blank brooch base tray/ safety pin,

0,5 mm gauge and 30 cm (approx 11,81in) long wire segment,

1,5 mm gauge and 12 cm (approx 4,72in) long wire segment. 

Abbreviations:

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

inc – increase

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

Bouton

1. Crochet 6 sc in a magic ring (we're gonna start crochet with a smooth thread – YarnArt begonia)

2. (1 inc, 1 sc) х 3 = 9 sc

3, 4. 9 sc

5. (1 inc, 2 sc) х 3 = 12 sc

6 – 8. 12 sc

9. (1 inc, 3 sc) х 3 = 15 sc

10 – 12. 15 sc

13. (1 inc, 4 sc) х 3 = 18 sc

14 – 16. 18 sc

17. (1 inc, 5 sc) х 3 = 21 sc

18, 19. 21 sc

20. (1 inc, 6 sc) х 3 = 24 sc

16 ch.

Fold the thin wire (0.5 mm in diameter, approx. 15 cm long) in half. Сrochet around the wire so it's in the middle of the row. As shown on the pictures.

1. starting from the 2nd ch from the hook 14 sc, 3 sc into 1, 14 sc = 31, ch, turn

2. 2 sc, 3 hdc,  3 dc, 3 hdc, 4 sc, picot, 3 sc, 3 hdc, 3 dc, 3 hdc, 4 sc.

Bind off. Leave a small piece of thread for further work.

Apply some glue along the wire and spin yarn over it as shown.

Add a wire with a diameter of 1.5 mm and a length of about 12-13 cm inside the bouton.

Apply glue to the visible part of the wire, wrap it in green thread.

Add the leaves. Add glue, wrap with thread.

Sew to the base for the brooch. Grabbing the part of the wire that is in the bouton.

The front of the bud can be supplemented with beads.

Your brooch is ready.
