Humpty Dumpty Egg Holder

Materials

– Alize forever 50 g/300 m

– 1.25mm crochet hook

– a sewing needle, a pair of scissors, hollow fiber stuffing, adhesive plaster, glue, 0,5 mm wire: approx 30 cm long segment for legs and  40 cm long segment for arms.

Abbreviations:

sc – single crochet

inc – increase

dec – decrease, two single crochets together

hdc – half double crochet

ss – slip stitch

Egg Holder (white, inner part)

1. Work 6 sc in a Magic Ring

2. 6 inc = 12 sc

3. (1inc, 1 sc) х 6 = 18

4. (1inc, 2 sc) х 6 = 24

5. (1inc, 3 sc) х 6 = 30

6. (1inc, 4 sc) х 6 = 36

7. (1inc, 5 sc) х 6 = 42

8. (1inc, 6 sc) х 6 = 48

9. (1inc, 7 sc) х 6 = 54

10. (1inc, 8 sc) х 6 = 60

11. (1inc, 9 sc) х 6 = 66

12 – 17. 66 sc

18. (1inc, 10 sc) х 6 = 72

19, 20. 72 sc

Bind off. Cut off.

Egg Holder (coloured outer part)

1. Crochet 6 sc in a Magic Ring (blue)

2. 6 inc = 12 sc (blue)

From Round 3 make increases with white and any remaining single crochets with blue.

Change to yellow.

18. Work 12sc in back loops only

19 – 31. 12 sc

Bind off. Cut off. Leave a small tail of thread for further sewing.  

Cuff

Attach yellow yarn to Round 18 and make 2sc in each of the half-loops. Finish off with a ss to join the edges. Bind off. Cut off.

Legs (2pc)

Boot (2 pc, dark colour)

Ch 5

1. Starting from 2nd ch from hook work 3 sc, 3 sc in one, 3 sc, 3 sc in one =12

2. 12 sc

3.3 sc, 3 inc, 3 sc, 3 inc = 18

4 – 10 = 18

11. (1 dec, 1 sc) х 6 = 12

12. = 12

Take a piece of wire, make a loop as shown on the picture, secure it with some adhesive plaster, insert the wire into the boot and stuff the part lightly.

13.  work 12 sc around the wire (work 8 sc to the centre, bend the wire, continue making sc to the end of the round).

14. 6 dec = 6 sc

Bind off. Cut off.  

Pants (2 pc)

Work 6 sc in a Magic Ring (blue)

1 – 15(3 sc blue, 1 sc white) х 3 = 12

Bind off. Cut off. Leave a small tail of thread for further sewing.  

Assembly

Dress the pants over the wire. Attach those to boots and sew together. Stuff lightly.

Take a piece of wire, make a loop, secure it with some adhesive plaster, insert the wire into the arm and stuff the part lightly. Repeat for arm No. 2.

Count 3 rounds down from the top of the egg holder. Insert the arms into the body as shown and sew them on.

Count 7 rounds from the bottom of the egg holder and Insert the legs into Round 7 as shown and sew them on. 

Cover wire ends with adhesive tape.

Insert the inner part of the egg holder into the outer part as shown.

Join them together: make sc hooking though the loops of both parts.
