Half double crochet is used mostly to crochet clothes. They are higher as single crochet but smaller as double crochet.

The steps to crochet half double crochet are similar to the double crochet. When you crochet double crochet you always finish 2 loops at once. With half double crochet, you combine 3 loops at the time.

We start with a chain.

Place the yarn over the hook,

Go into the third stitch from hook

Get the yarn over. And now you have three loops on the hook.

Again get the yarn over

And pull it through the three loops.

And the half double crochet is done!
