DIY

"DIY" Is there a German term for this too, or what is it supposed to mean?
I find all this foreign-language stuff all the time awful. No, at 65, I don't want to learn that anymore.
If I can't read it, I'll just avoid these pages or this section—regardless of whether there are nice patterns or not.

I can’t think of a suitable German abbreviation off the top of my head, though.

It’s about doing it yourself—handmade at home—versus something that rolled off the assembly line in a factory.
Of course, this also includes items you sew yourself at home using a sewing machine.

DIY is just a new name that sounds trendy and catchy for something people have known for many years. Please don’t let it confuse you; even if it says DIY on the outside, what’s inside is still what you know and like.
