Potato goulash is on the menu for lunch. I’m still at work, but I’ll be heading home soon. This afternoon I have my philosophy group. I hope to make some progress on my soul warmer this week and maybe even start on a few Christmas gifts.

I just turned our living room into a flea market. My pregnant friend is coming over tonight with her husband and wants to look at a few of Anton’s things.

Tonight we’re having the roulades I cooked and froze last week. We’ll have them with homemade croquettes, red cabbage, and Brussels sprouts.

I’m curious to see how the roulades taste. It’s the first time I’ve made them completely without red wine.

The weather is great—nice and warm and pleasant.

I’m doing well—the sun is shining, it’s warm, and I can still work with the windows open, at least some of the time.
I’d like to finish a new Advent calendar this week. It wouldn’t be bad if I could also make some progress on a few other craft projects I’ve started.
For lunch, as almost always, I’m having a vegan mixed salad made with cooked, marinated, and fresh ingredients.
Right now I’m reading Giulia Enders’ book "Darm mit Charme" in Russian, since the original version was constantly checked out at my local library. I’m a big fan of Giulia Enders and her public appearances, though I’m less enthusiastic about the book itself—aside from the fact that the Russian translation is very poor, there are some contradictory and confusing passages in the book. But there’s also a lot of interesting information, which is currently prompting me to pay a little more attention to my diet.

The weather is still summery, so there’s plenty you can get done outdoors. I’ll probably finish the knitting part of the men’s vest today—out on the balcony. :-)

Last night we went out to eat with friends at a typical Bavarian inn. As vegans, we probably presented the chef with a challenge he’d never faced before. Since there was nothing on the menu that didn’t contain cheese, we just ordered a vegetable platter. Well… it was just defrosted vegetables without much seasoning.

We often have salads at home, too, made with a mix of raw and cooked ingredients. Today I’m going to make a vegetable rice dish seasoned with delicious herbs and served with smoked tofu—it’s been a while since I’ve had that.

I wish all readers here a wonderful week!

Best wishes, Monika

We had turkey curry with rice today. I hope I’ll finish my loop scarf today, and I’m slowly starting to think about packing my suitcase

I haven’t done anything yet today and just reheated yesterday’s meager leftovers for lunch: I have such a bad cold that after breakfast and hanging up the laundry, I went right back to bed. I managed to get through the two classes at school just fine, and tonight I feel well enough to keep knitting my dishcloth (which I’ve already unraveled twice) while watching TV!

On Mondays, we always eat leftovers from Sunday. There’s usually enough left over to last. :-)

I didn’t do any sewing today—this morning we had to take our cat to the vet for a checkup, and Junior was back at school. So today started with homework again, followed by a visit to Grandma’s. And she gave me an old sewing machine. I’ll take a closer look at it tomorrow when I’ve had a good night’s sleep. Then Junior will get his own machine.

We’ll see when I get around to sewing this week. Since I work the night shift, I like to do something in the afternoons. And this weekend we’re heading to Speyer for the family exhibition.

Today I’m going out to eat with my sister. We’re meeting up to catch up and eat while we chat. Time always flies by way too fast.

The weather is gorgeous—sunshine all day long. But I’m also looking forward to it getting a little colder now. The fall break is coming up, and for us, that’s always marked the start of ice-skating season. But with these temperatures, no ice rink will open for us.

As for crocheting, I’m already working on Christmas gifts. They’re all special orders. I especially enjoy making those.

And I’m absolutely not getting anywhere with the patterns. My system hasn’t let me transfer any photos to my PC for over a week now. At first, there was a problem with the transfer—it kept crashing—and then I couldn’t connect anything at all anymore.
Now the computer wants an update. I wish I had someone who knew what they were doing to handle all this for me.....

But I’m a self-reliant woman—it’ll all work out again. As soon as I get that update done. It’s just that when the computer isn’t working the way it should, I always avoid it.
Thank goodness the one at work works, so I can pop in here and check on you all a bit.
