Hi,
I’ve been a silent reader so far and I love this site.
I’m getting married next year and want to crochet my own bridal umbrella.
But I can’t find a pattern for it.
Can you help me? I’d be happy to pay for a pattern, of course!
Since I’m not a pro, the pattern shouldn’t be too hard :-)
A bridal umbrella is a great idea. But then you’ll have both hands full with the bridal bouquet, the umbrella, and everything else. It’ll definitely look amazing in photos, though. Will you upload a picture once you’re done with the umbrella?
I think your idea is really great! Even if you have your hands full, you can always just use the umbrella for the photos! I’m already looking forward to seeing the result! :-)
Thanks for the replies.
I’ve already searched Google, but for some reason I couldn’t find anything there.
I’m going to start looking for tablecloth patterns now, just to have the pattern.
Yeah, it’s mostly meant for photos and as decoration—just to show off what I can do :-P
Of course you’ll get photos, but it’ll really take quite a while.
I have to find a wedding dress first so I can coordinate the colors.
I don’t mean to be
a killjoy, but a crocheted rain umbrella won’t keep out the rain
whereas a crocheted parasol can certainly block the sun, as long as the pattern isn’t too openwork. ;)
Nope, I’m buying the wedding dress :-)
But I’ll crochet the umbrella.
Yeah, maybe that’s a bit of a silly way to put it—it should just be an umbrella. I have a white one with a transparent film covering it, and I’d like to keep that on it.
I’m also hoping it won’t rain on my wedding day :-)
An umbrella to go with the wedding dress looks great! I had one too!
Buuuut if you’re planning to carry it for the entrance into the church or registry office, I’d recommend a round bridal bouquet that hangs from your wrist with a satin loop—or something attached to your wrist like a pincushion—so you have one hand free for your clutch or whatever... ;)
In any case, I hope you have lots of fun and that your umbrella turns out beautifully!!!
So, after what felt like 1,000 hours of work and rethreading it three times, my umbrella was finished just in time and got lots of “wows” and “oohs.”
I also made part of our decorations and the cake decorations myself.
Everything, of course, in our colors: white and blue.
