Crocheting a Poncho

Hey, I think you can wear crocheted clothes even in the summer! Of course, they should be light and airy... and that’s why I’d love to crochet myself a poncho. Has anyone ever crocheted one before and knows how to do it? I’d really appreciate any stitch patterns or great patterns!

How long it takes you also depends on how experienced you are, how thick the yarn is that you use, and how thick the crochet hook is—your stitches will be bigger or smaller accordingly, so you’ll make faster or slower progress.
If you might have to unravel it again now and then because it’s not quite working out after all, then of course it will take longer. But it’ll work out in the end.

I’m only just noticing now—the poncho isn’t crocheted at all, it’s knitted.
Can you knit? It looks really great and really makes an impression, and it’s sure to be nice and warm too.
I love the big buttons and the freedom of movement for the arms.
I don’t know whether the poncho’s pattern in the pattern is suitable for beginners at knitting. Maybe the pros can tell you more about that.
Would anyone like to say something about it? Maybe maksdesign is reading along here in the forum and could say something about it themselves?

My very first crochet project (a beginner’s project; zero prior experience) was a poncho. It took me about 3 weeks (since I only crochet for 2–3 hours in the evenings) and 8 skeins of 50-gram yarn. I worked this project in one piece, in rounds, using a size 4 crochet hook.

You can upload a picture right here in the forum. There’s not much point in adding it to the gallery under another pattern. But that’s what the forum is for. Here’s how to upload pictures:
