Hey there,
have you ever crocheted a Happymaker? I think it’s great to crochet imaginative figures and characters from scratch, but I also imagine it would be really difficult… since there wouldn’t be any actual templates/patterns…
If you don’t know anything about Happymakers yet, you can check out the video.:-)

Hi BettyBoom
so is that kind of like a worry stone, but made of yarn?
we had the worry stone a while ago in the other thread over there

I just saw in the video description that it says these are Voodolls, little dolls that resemble voodoo dolls, but without any bad intentions.
well, ok, I'm not sure whether that fits with the worry stone, but it's not really wrong either.
anyway, as long as you're having fun with it, everything is fine ;)
it's really crazy what people make with DIY
I took a look around based on your video link to see what all is out there :)
you'd need a lot of time if you wanted to try all of that.
of course in addition to all the pretty patterns on Crazypatterns, that goes without saying.

Oh, that’s so great that you’ve already put so much thought into this! I probably wouldn’t compare them to tactile objects you hold in your hand, since they’re really just for fun and maybe to put on display :D
But I agree with you that it’s not entirely wrong either :-)
Yeah, it really does take a lot of time—you don’t just want to crochet from an existing pattern, you also want to come up with your own little “dolls” :)

Hey there…

great video! We made little dolls just like these for our spring project, using yarn and craft materials… the technique was almost identical. Well, they were made by preschoolers, so of course some were a little lopsided or had arms longer than legs, etc.,

but there are some really great ones, and this little doll is definitely one of them :)

Thanks for sharing!

When I first read the post, I thought of worry dolls. But there is still a bit of a difference.

Worry dolls are rather small and come in a bag. Small enough to put under your pillow.

Hi berlidesign! Well, that just makes it even funnier—if the legs or arms are crooked or not the same length, it instantly puts a smile on your face, and the “Happymaker” has done its job :)
