So far, I’ve been pretty happy with August.
Our outdoor space around the house is coming along, everyone’s healthy, I’ve made progress on a few crochet projects (right now I’m working on way too many things at once), I found a new yarn shop, and overall I’m very satisfied.
This week, though, things have been a bit of a mess.
First, my cat was chased by a huge dog and totally messed up the neighbor’s house because she ran inside to escape (I had to rush home from work because she was so panicked and distraught), every day something unexpected comes up that ruins my evening plans, and today I first cut my finger pretty deeply (it hurts like hell), and then, while I was waiting for the mail, instead of the package I was expecting, I got a parking ticket...
Hopefully these aren’t signs of things to come in September :)
August has been good so far.
Sure, there were a few minor setbacks, but there were also lots of wonderful things.
For example, last Saturday we met Jo Gerner from GZSZ on the Rhine in Cologne,
as well as Ute from Unter Uns and Finn Albrecht from AWZ.
That’s been our highlight so far.
Tomorrow our eldest turns 12, and tomorrow evening we’ll be celebrating with some very dear
friends.
Things have also gone well with my crocheting. I was able to finish all the unicorns and the bookmarks.
Now I’m working on my vest. That’s starting to take shape, too.
It was too hot at the beginning of the month, but now the weather is great. Gardening is fun again, and the weather is bearable for crafts, too. For me, August was a leisurely, lovely month.
Tina, sometimes things just don’t go right. It’ll get better again.
I’m satisfied. Everything went well in August and is going well right now (knock on wood).
I’m enjoying the daily madness again—with housework, homework, art teachers who want 4B pencils (which they’re guaranteed not to use anyway), and other special requests....
August was great for me, too, despite the heat. I’m working on new ideas and have even almost finished a winter project—a new hat design is (almost) ready. :-)
I also finally finished a UFO bag that I can give to my granddaughter in September.
Our garden gives us almost a pound of raspberries every day, and this year, honeydew melons are even growing all on their own in the raised compost bed. Well, if that isn’t a reason to be happy!
Now I’m looking forward to September and some moderate temperatures. Then it’s off on the road again in the RV.
Considering it was holiday season, it was hot, and I didn’t have any new paid patterns, I’m satisfied. New patterns will be released in September or October at the latest, and now we’re getting pleasant temperatures for crafting again
Things are going a bit slowly for me at the moment. No new pattern since July. I haven’t crocheted much because of the heat. Our son has now switched schools for 5th grade—lots of excitement! Somehow I don’t have any new ideas and keep starting new things. But I’m also hoping things will pick up again starting in September!
