Dear users, dear authors,
here you can write down what made July, August, and September special for you, what’s important to you, and what you’d like to remember.

Please upload lots of photos. It’s going to be wonderful. :- )

What have you been working on?
Did you have any unfinished projects?
Did you unravel any yarn?
Did you buy any yarn?
Bought any other materials or supplies?
Did you reorganize your yarn?
Did you discover or try out any new creative storage solutions?

Any pretty garden photos? Flower photos?
Vacation photos?
Who celebrated?
Who had fun?

Time flies by way too fast. What you write down or photograph will be there for later. So, get started. :- )
I’m curious to see what you’ve been up to.

--> As soon as this thread has more than 100 posts, I’ll start Part 2.
--> If the thread is loading slowly because of all the pictures, please close any other tabs and try clearing your cache.

So I’ll get started :-D.
I spent a very large part of the month doing something that’s rather unusual for me—making doll clothes and accessories for my grandson.
I’ve already shown a knitted set in another thread; here’s a sewn cloth diaper and a sewn doll carrier. Another sewn set consisting of pants, a shirt, and a hat is in the works and should be finished by Friday.

The doll is only 32 cm tall, so everything is very small and the work is fiddly. But that’s part of the fun.

My Summer—OK...
I mostly crocheted little things, but I also worked with Fimo (the figure in the display case, for example, is mine...)

As I mentioned before, I mainly crocheted little things like these napkin rings....

We went to lots of concerts—here’s Billy Idol—yes, I’m still a fan :) ...

We went on vacation in the mountains and walked our feet off...

On Lake Constance on the way back home, a couple of very strange characters surprised us and made us smile.

For me, at least one visit to the funfair is always part of summer

A few more concerts—here: Tyler Leads

Stefanie Heinzmann

Sunrise Avenue

Unfortunately, the photos of the Weather Girls didn’t turn out…

Otherwise, this year was kind of all about hauling a lot of water very often to water the flowers on the balcony—unfortunately, some of them didn’t survive anyway…

We just had a great time!

In addition to crocheting and knitting, I take a lot of photos:

Mathematikum in Gießen

Evening sky

Bad Homburg Castle Park

Palmengarten in Frankfurt

The photos above are a selection of my favorite subjects and locations.

I’ll start with my shop projects from this summer.
My shop has been enriched especially by maritime patterns and pot holders crocheted in Tunisian simple stitch :-)

-------------------------------------------
This summer, I decided to crochet a garment in Tunisian crochet, but the project wasn’t as easy as I’d thought.
Finding the right hook with a cord, choosing a pattern, and then finding the right yarn—all of that took several hours of test crocheting, unraveling, and searching for the right materials. But what can I say—now I’ve got it all together :-)

The right hook—I’m especially happy about that

I finally have the right pattern, too—only the color isn’t right yet.
I’ve ordered the yarn, and I’ve already worked the first few rows.
------------------------------------------
I spent a lot of time biking this summer and enjoyed the surroundings; that’s when I found a funny shop-window display—a bicycle completely crocheted over (unfortunately, the photo isn’t very good)

My husband got his early birthday present: a ride in a Dodge Challenger (his dream). The surprise was a total success.
------------------------------------------
I was saddened by the death of my 18-year-old tomcat; unfortunately, I had to have him put to sleep.

------------------------------------
I repurposed a CD rack for my yarn, and I’m absolutely thrilled with it—I’m going to add more, because now I can finally see at a glance what treasures I still have.

--------------------------------------------
But now I’m finally wrapping things up!!!

On August 24, our kitten Junior moved in with us and has been bringing life to our home ever since—a real ray of sunshine. I do have to make sure he doesn’t snoop around too much on CP, though; he wants his own account :-)

Now I’m looking forward to more posts :-)

Mel, how do you go about presenting the pictures? Do you need a special program for that?

Too bad—I don’t see any pictures here, just these two dolls. What am I doing wrong? I can’t click on anything either (photos).

and last but not least, I’ve been busy harvesting and using:
currants, blackberries, mirabelle plums, green beans, and zucchini.

Here are a few pictures of what’s been going on lately...

We’ve been out and about a lot these past few wonderful days, like here at Westfalenpark in Dortmund....

I put up some fall decorations and baked scones....

We painted our bathroom—yes, I love bright colors....

We spent a couple of days in Holland, enjoying the sea.

Also, a friend asked me for some cake servers with colorful handles made of Fimo—so of course I made them for her.

Right now, I’m in the process of making my first molds for casting concrete using liquid latex... I’m really curious to see if it’ll work...
