Myboshi Hats

Hi everyone, I'm still looking for a crochet pattern for my next hat and I still can't make up my mind. In my search, I keep coming across the term "Myboshi hats." What exactly are they? How are Myboshi hats different from regular hats?

They’re hats that were originally made by a two-person company. Now you can also buy the yarn and crochet or knit them yourself. But the yarn is pretty overpriced—you can get wool of the same quality for much less. The style of these hats is plain/simple, often featuring bright colors.

Myboshi hats are meant to be absolutely individual. “Myboshi” — “boshi” means “hat” in Japanese, and “my” means “my.”
In this case, the designers are young men, which I personally find very admirable (men doing crafts — wow!)
They say they leave mass production to others. With them, anyone can design their own hat thanks to different, combinable, very trendy shapes, patterns, and colors.

"Myboshi" simply means "my hat" :-) That doesn’t really help. I don’t think you can really tell them apart. There are so many designs now that no one can keep track of them all.
