Handicraft Day? What is that?

Hi,
what exactly is Handicraft Day? What happens on that day? What fun things can you do? Does the day have anything to do with crocheting, or is it more about DIY?

Handicraft Day is a charity campaign.
Anyone can participate by sewing, crocheting, or knitting for underprivileged children.
There are also patterns on the website.
Donations can then be dropped off at local retailers participating in the campaign or mailed in.
The donations are then distributed to the children.
The campaign runs through September 1, 2015, in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
