Is knitting faster than crocheting?

Hi, if you want to knit a scarf or a sweater, for example, would an experienced knitter be faster than an experienced crocheter when it comes to a project of comparable size?

I’d say crocheting is faster :-)

But I don’t know for sure. 

I used to say knitting was faster, but these days I’ve gotten pretty fast at crocheting scarves and things like that too—though having to count stitches and all that stuff does of course slow you down. ;)
We could let this thread run for a while and see what others have to say about it. Or we could have a little “who’s faster” contest.
But really, crafting isn’t about the speed of light or anything like that—it’s just about enjoying what you’re doing and stuff. Oh well. :)

Crochet stitches are just bigger than knit stitches, so I think that’s why crocheting is faster.
