Everyone writes one sentence for the story. It must include:
- the Easter Bunny
- ducklings
- colorful eggs

The story should be Easter-themed and can be magical, funny, and cute.

The Story of the Easter Bunny, the Ducklings, and the Colorful Eggs

One day, the Easter Bunny woke up in the morning, rubbed his eyes, and… was amazed at what he saw!

Five cute, golden-yellow ducklings had hatched from the eggs he’d painted in bright colors just yesterday.

Quickly, the Easter Bunny gathered up
the cute ducklings and wondered where he could build a nest for them.

Since ducklings do get pretty big, it wasn’t that easy,
but in Mrs. Schulze’s garden, the Easter Bunny saw a large basket,

Then he had a brilliant idea.

Since the little ducklings had adopted the Easter Bunny as their mom, he went straight to the neighbor’s basket and made himself comfortable there with his foundlings.

The ducklings soon fell asleep and felt very comfortable, but the Easter Bunny wondered, “What am I going to do if they get hungry?”

All he had in his supplies were chocolate eggs, and those were definitely not the right food for little ducklings!

But the Easter Bunny had taken on quite a tricky task, because it occurred to him that the ducklings also needed a swimming instructor—oh dear!

So the Easter Bunny set off to look for some suitable food and a swimming instructor...

Luckily, there was a big pond in the nearby park with all kinds of animals, including ducks.

Should the Easter Bunny just ask them if they want to adopt the little ducklings?

Easier said than done ... the Easter Bunny hopped to the shore and—plop!—oh dear, fell into the water!

Right away, a few ducks swam by and fished the Easter Bunny out of the water.

He simply had to seize this opportunity, so he plucked up the courage to ask the ducks:

“Dear ducks, um, I was just going to say…,” but his words were drowned out by the ducks’ laughter; they found his dripping-wet appearance very funny.

Once they’d calmed down again, he set off another fit of laughter among the ducks, because he stammered: 

“I can’t swim… and… I have to show the little ducklings how it’s done.”

“But swimming is the easiest thing in the world—anyone can do it,” said the ducks, “painting Easter eggs is much harder!”

Then the Easter Bunny had a brilliant idea—yes, that’s it!

“I’ll teach you how to paint eggs, and you’ll show my ducklings how to swim!” he suggested.

That only left the problem of the duck feed...

The bunny scratched behind his ear, which was still dripping wet, and wondered if ducks munch on carrots too… because he still had quite a stash of them.

But when he cautiously asked the ducks about it, he was met with another fit of laughter.

Disheartened, the bunny let his ears droop and trotted off.

One duck felt so sorry for him that she followed him, but when she saw the cute ducklings, she immediately changed her mind.

The duck felt a strong maternal instinct welling up inside her, and she wondered if the ducklings might belong to her… because she was a bit forgetful and couldn’t remember where she’d laid her eggs…

The Easter Bunny noticed this right away and thought she could take much better care of the ducklings than he could. She should definitely give it a try.
The Easter Bunny felt so sorry for the little ducklings, but he is, after all, the Easter Bunny, and what he does best is paint eggs in bright colors.

But the ducklings, who weren’t stupid at all, protested when they realized what the two of them were up to, because they had already grown so used to the Easter Bunny.

After all, they saw him first when they hatched… and so he was their mom.

They tried to imitate him and hop along on their little legs just like he did, and one even picked up a paintbrush in its beak to paint an egg!

It looked absolutely adorable… but what was the Easter Bunny supposed to do now? The little ducklings made that decision for him, because they spotted the water… oh dear.

Before the bunny could even blink, they were all in the water—and lo and behold, they could all swim all by themselves.

That solved one problem, but the ducklings were all quacking terribly because they wanted their “Mama” in the water, too.

"Mama" had an idea: I absolutely need a boat or a raft so I can accompany my little ones, but how do I do that?

Then he remembered Mrs. Schulze’s basket again: surely it could be made waterproof?

No sooner said than done. The Easter Bunny quickly fetched Mrs. Schulze’s basket to the water’s edge.

And it worked out wonderfully; when the ducklings got tired, “Mama” immediately took them into the basket with her.

So they swayed leisurely into the sunset, which stirred very romantic feelings in the Easter Bunny and prompted him to sing “O sole mio.”

But the little ducklings didn’t sleep for long … the Easter Bunny’s singing, their “Mama,” quickly made them wide awake and eager for adventure again.
