the butterfly is lovely! It must be quite a lot of work to get all those sequins onto it? How do you do that? Are they glued or sewn on?
But the tiny beads around the outside are definitely sewn on?
What kind of thread did you use to make the beaded necklace?
Do you actually have to knot it after every bead so the beads don’t all slip off the thread if the thread should ever break?
Or do you simply string them one after another and only knot it at the end, using a very tear-resistant thread for that?
Can you actually do that with very thin, flexible wire too?
Do you make jewelry too? it kind of looks like it :)

I did go to your website after all and looked at the pattern for crocheting beaded necklaces.

They aren’t just simply strung on after all, but crocheted in. That’s naturally more stable than just stringing them on.
I could have figured that out earlier too :)

Hi muetzekatze,
yes, I crocheted the necklace. Yarn—100% cotton, 100 g/560 m.

The sequins and seed beads are sewn on. It’s fiddly work, but it’s worth it! It looks really great!

I actually had to look up what “rocailles” are :)
Yeah, that looks lovely.

Where on earth do you get all these ideas?
Are you just a creative person, or does it come from years of practice—or both?

Once you discover your creativity, it just comes naturally. I see something, and an idea is immediately “born”—how I can make it myself, or modify it to create something new. So, it comes with time))
