Celebrating Easter: How do you celebrate it?

how do you celebrate Easter?

We don’t really celebrate Easter here—we just enjoy a nice long weekend, and that’s about it.

We don’t celebrate Easter either.

However, the holiday has picked a special date this year ;)

For several years now, we’ve been attending the early morning service at 6 a.m.: Sometimes it starts outside with the Easter bonfire, then the Easter candle is carried into the dark church, and afterward we head to the parish hall for “Eiertütschen” (which translates to “breakfast with Easter eggs”). At 10 a.m., the “regular” service takes place, including Holy Communion.
Since Easter falls on April 1 this year—my sister’s birthday—I don’t yet know if she’s planning anything special, and whether my middle daughter will be coming home is still up in the air.
