Whether crocheted or knitted: a cozy piece like this is popular all year round.

And yes, the crochet pattern looks knitted and is just as cuddly soft.
But knitters will enjoy it too. The stitch pattern is very similar.

The PDF pattern is detailed and illustrated over 23 pages and includes both the crochet pattern and the knitting pattern for the soul warmer and the arm/leg warmers.

The stitches used are explained with pictures.
So general crochet or knitting knowledge is sufficient.

Basically, any yarn you like can be used. However, the amount of yarn can vary greatly depending on your yarn choice and needle/hook size. Details are included in the pattern. My yarn usage when using an alpaca yarn, 50 g – 100 m, according to the label for needle size 3 – 4, but used here: crochet hook size 8.0

• for the soul warmer approx. 500 g in the crochet version
  (approx. 800 g in the knitted version with needles size 6.0),
• for the cuffs approx. 100 g in both versions

My Arctica soul warmer is a holiday project and a bit different from the norm, since it’s knitted sideways, allowing you to customize the size. The pattern is varied but simple. It’s explained row by row and also shown in a chart.
You’ll need yarn with a yardage of about 400 m per 100 g. I used 200 g for XL.
