Craft accessories

Hey, what kind of accessories do you have? I don’t mean crochet hooks, knitting needles, or yarn—I mean all the other stuff, like scissors and a measuring tape.
So

I have a regular pair of paper scissors; they’re enough for cutting yarn and stuff. They’re made of stainless steel.
And I have a regular measuring tape.
Do you need anything special if you really want to get into crafts?
My books always mention measuring tapes with extra markings—highlighted in different colors every 10 cm and stuff like that. And they say you should get a pair of shorter scissors where both blades are sharp. Well. I think this will work just fine.

What I’d really like to have is a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each row.
So far, I’ve been doing this with a knotted piece of yarn, but it’s such a fiddly process trying to get the short piece of yarn out again. Sometimes the knot accidentally tightens a bit more than intended. I really need to see if I can find a few of those stitch markers.

And a darning needle for mending and sewing pieces together. It should have a blunt tip. That’s what’s recommended. So far, I’ve always done this with my crochet hook—it’s a bit awkward, but it works.

Yarn ball holders
How do you handle the yarn ball? It just rolls all over the place if you’re not careful. For a while, I’d put it in my yarn box—it’s pretty deep, so the ball has room to move around while I’m crocheting. It can’t roll away, though, and it doesn’t get snagged anywhere either. I don’t see the point in buying a special holder for that.
Do you have one, or do you think it’s unnecessary?

What I really don’t get are things like yarn bobbins, where you can wind small amounts of all the yarns you need so you don’t have to deal with the big balls every time.
Do you have something like that? Could it be that this becomes necessary as your projects get more complicated?

Craft baskets

Do you all have those pretty little baskets for your things—wooden ones with different compartments and such—or just plastic or cardboard boxes from I K E A with lids or something like that?

We talk a lot about crafts here,
but we’ve never really discussed accessories.
I’m curious to see what you all have.
 

Maschenmarkierer hab ich selbst gemacht Häkelgarn und einige Perlen aufgefädelt.
was ich gerade mache liegt im Körbchen neben mir das andere ist aufgeräumt.
Stricknadeln hab ich sehr viele so ab Gr .2- 9
Häelnadeln ab 0,9 - 5
Knäulhalter hab ich 2 vorher nur eine kleine Schüssel geht auch.
Eine Magnettafel hab ich auch mit Lupenlineal meistens für  Sticken oder Df-Tolas
hab ein kleines gefilztes körbchen am Tisch da ist dann kleine Schere ,Maschenmarkierer ,Maßband,Bleistift und Stopfnadel drinnen.Eine Häkelnadel liegt  immer daneben .
