Hello, dear forum,

my son has been wanting a crocheted cheetah to cuddle for a long time. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any patterns yet—could you help me out? Do you have a cheetah crochet pattern or any idea where I might find one?

But I just saw that they’re 9 cm tall, so I’m not sure if that’s really suitable for cuddling.

The problem with leopards or cheetahs is the spots. It’s not that easy to get them looking neat. That’s why I sewed my grandchildren a leopard instead when they wanted one.

Maybe you can combine them somehow?

I’m thinking about ordering some leopard-print yarn and giving it a try... Otherwise, I’ll just draw the spots on with a marker. :-D

With the marker, you just have to make sure it’s non-toxic. I don’t know how old your son is, but when cuddling, a lot of it does end up in his mouth.

painting it on is definitely one solution... what do you think about fabric paint? If you use cotton yarn, for example, I think it should work ;-)

Or maybe glue it on with felt or—depending on your son’s age—sew it on? 

I’m sure you’ll find a suitable cat :) 

Why not show him some big cats and see which shape he’d like... Maybe he’ll find something else he’d prefer instead... A nice lion or something like that :)
