Travel Sewing Machine

Hi everyone,

I recently saw a small travel sewing machine that you can hold with just one hand.
About 10 euros, as far as I can remember.

Is it any good? Has anyone had any experience with it?

I can’t offer any personal experience on this topic. Why do you need a travel sewing machine, anyway?
I’d be skeptical about a hand-held sewing machine for 10 euros, though of course you might just get lucky.

Well, I figured I could use it to practice a little or something.

They had it at Netto; I saw
it there last week, but I don’t think they always have it in stock.
I’ll see if I can still snag one,
but I’d like to give it a try.

Something I forgot to mention
but I can't edit now:
a “full-size” sewing machine just isn’t worth it for me
but I saw some great patchwork books at the city library.
I can definitely sew by hand—at least for small projects.
I just wanted the travel/hand sewing machine to practice and get a feel for it.
There are such great patterns in these patchwork and quilting projects. But I’ll probably have to practice for a few years before I get the hang of it.
I don’t think it’s like crocheting, where you can make progress pretty quickly.

Wouldn’t you rather look for a decent model for beginners?

I’ve thought about getting one myself.
I really don’t know if I’d be happy with a mini machine like that.
The question is, though, whether I’d actually use the full-size sewing machine. If it’s just sitting in the corner gathering dust, then it’s not really worth it. I’ll just have to think about whether I really want to “get into” this whole thing. What kind of sewing machine do you have? Are you happy with it?
