Foundation single crochet stitches

Hi
I always thought that when crocheting, you could only cast on stitches or make the first row with chain stitches.
But I’ve just learned that there’s another way to do it.
You make the loop right at the beginning, just like usual,
and then a chain stitch.
Then you insert the hook back through the chain stitch, make a single crochet, and keep going with single crochets until you have the desired number of stitches.

It really works. I tried it.
The first row does look a little different from a row of chain stitches, of course.
But I think it’s totally fine.
It’s definitely good if you’re planning to make a cowl, because it makes sewing it together easier.

Have you ever done this before?

Ich hatte keine Ahnung, dass man den Maschenanschlag auch so machen kann. Muss jetzt ins Bett, aber morgen werde ich diese Variante des Maschenanschlags mal versuchen. Danke für den Tipp. Magst Du mir mal PN schicken, welche Bücher Du da hast, aus denen Du diese Tipps holst?

da sieht die erste Reihe gleich viel besser aus
man sollte das allerdings nicht mit Garn mit Mouliné-Effekt machen, also das ist das Garn, bei dem mehrere verschiedenfarbige dünne Fäden zusammengezwirbelt werden.
Das ist anfangs immer etwas tricky.
also, für mich jetzt, Profis haben da sicher weniger Probleme damit
