Dear users, dear authors,
Contrary to rumors, grandmas don’t necessarily have to limit themselves to beige. Beige can look very elegant—that’s not the point—but as a grandma, you can still express and highlight your own personality time and time again with clothing and matching accessories.
Discover clothing for stylish / modern grandmas now.

@Authors:
2–3 patterns per author are enough.
Don’t forget to include a link, an image, and the usual information.

Over the years, many people develop a more relaxed view of themselves. Seen that way, getting older isn’t so bad at all. While young chicks stand desperately in front of the mirror and still have to find their style, grandmas or ladies of grandma age have already found theirs long ago. And once you have white hair, you have the great advantage that all colors look good on you anyway. There’s nothing anymore that makes you look like cheese; you can wear anything.
Grandmas can be bold with color. How about a scarf made from colorful sock yarn? Knitted on the bias, the different colors of the yarn really come into their own. A narrow lace edge adds elegance and style.

The pattern can be found here.

In your later years, you no longer have to go along with every bit of nonsense. Or has anyone ever seen a grandma who pays extra just to have holes in her trousers? No, if you want to be fashionable, do it with style.
A simple stole keeps you warm and looks elegant.

The pattern is here.

A simple knit-and-purl pattern, worked on a large scale in fine yarn, emphasizes its beauty without overpowering it.

I’m absolutely sure that the “Elegancia” loop scarf is the ideal accessory for the modern grandma—because my own grandma wears this very piece of jewelry! And I’m also sure that the loop scarf is totally stylish—because one of my grandma’s granddaughters wears it too ;-)

For the loop scarf, you’ll need about 1000 m of 3-ply gradient yarn and a 3 mm hook.
Of course, the pattern can also be crocheted with any other yarn.
Since it is a pattern that repeats over and over, you are totally flexible with the amount too!

You should know the following: chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, treble crochet, puff stitches (If you don’t have any experience with puff stitches: don’t worry! The download includes an extra file explaining them)

So, get the pattern here and get started right away!

Have fun! :)

I, too, am a grandma to a granddaughter, and at 63, I still love very fresh colors. This cardigan has just been added to my shop:

The cardigan is cozy and warm and has pockets worked in on both sides. It is knitted from the bottom up with raglan shaping. Thanks to the stretchy pattern, the cardigan has a figure-hugging fit. It fits sizes 38 to 42.

Difficulty level: medium - for experienced knitters

The following basic knitting and crochet skills are required:

  • Knit and purl stitches
  • Right- and left-leaning decreases
  • Binding off stitches
  • Knitting with multiple colors / color changes
  • Knitting buttonholes (also briefly explained here)
  • Sewing or crocheting knitted pieces together
  • Knitting raglan shaping

Click here for the knitting pattern for the cardigan with pockets and bottom-up raglan shaping.
