Today I’m working until 12:30 p.m. At home, the kids will be waiting with their homework, so studying is on the agenda.
And the garden is calling, too: Rake up the leaves and spruce me up...
But the evening belongs to my hook and me.
Otherwise, the weekend will be pretty quiet. My husband has to work tomorrow, so I’ll be alone with the kids. We’ll figure out something to do in this beautiful weather.
And on Sunday, we’re celebrating my best friend’s birthday. It’s a milestone birthday, and since I unfortunately don’t get to see her as often as I’d like, I’m especially looking forward to it. And of course, she’ll get something homemade—and a day of pampering at the spa.
I have a doctor’s appointment today—it’s about a knee replacement. A week in the hospital would be amazing—I’d have sooooooooo much time to knit, and I’d try my hand at crocheting, too. Crochet flowers non-stop—smile—
This afternoon, during the breaks that, as Criseldis says, you absolutely have to have, I’ll of course be knitting.
My second-youngest is celebrating her birthday today—she’s already a proud 3 years old!
Since she’s in preschool, today’s birthday “program” is pretty low-key; the tiniest one and I gave her a proper celebration this morning before preschool, singing our hearts out (well, Lotti’s still holding back on that, but Franka is singing along to herself *laughs*), handed out presents, admired them, and the birthday girl even got a little piece of cake already...(Oh, I’m totally getting off track here ;) )
Now Grandma is outside with the little one so I can (yes, I’m going to get right on that now!!!) do my bookkeeping...
When it’s time for her nap, I’ll have 2–3 hours to crochet
Later, I’m picking up my mom from the train station—she spent a week visiting her sister. It’s the first time she’s done something on her own since my dad passed away, and I think it did her a world of good.
Tomorrow we’re going to the movies!! *so excited*
The new adaptation of Stephen King’s “IT,” and I’m already soooo curious to see if it’ll actually give me the chills. ;-)))
Other than that, I’m still working on a pattern, crocheting a hat, and enjoying the really nice weather we’re having right now.
Hi, I’m Klaus. I’m new here—I’m not very good at crocheting or knitting, but I’m giving it a try. My wife is so into it that I wanted to try it myself—though I’m better at bricklaying! Now, about the weekend: I haven’t planned anything yet except sleeping in and going out for some delicious food—Italian today and Greek tomorrow.
Greetings, Klaus
Hello Klaus. A warm welcome here.
Like Michaela, I’m also happy that a man is speaking up here and hasn’t been scared off by his wife’s hobby :-). Men are usually our top chefs, after all, so why not also top crocheters or knitters—like Küma, for example.
I have dedicated my weekend to sleeping, since for several days the A8 was closed at night, with the result that all the highway traffic thundered past our place from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. So it’s time to make up for a lack of sleep—grin..
Wishing you all a wonderfully lovely weekend, and to everyone who is ill, I hope things get better quickly.
Best, Traudelina
It’s been fall break here for a week now, so some activities are cancelled. Of course, I hope to get plenty of crocheting and knitting done, but when I look out at the garden: where on earth did all these weeds come from again? And there’s still a bit of paperwork for the club to take care of; in between, I should slowly start thinking about what I want to set aside for the trip. At least I already know which needlework I’m taking with me: some great Bobbels are waiting to be worked up, and Christmas is coming up fast!
The green-waste bin has once again been well fed, but tonight it’s time for some needlework while watching TV: I want to keep working on the shark pot holder, and the wrist warmer could probably grow a bit more too.
Zwergnasebaer: Happy birthday to your birthday child! By the way, the mother of our grandchildren is also celebrating today!
Wow, there’s really a lot going on here. :-)
Wishing all the birthday girls and boys, children, parents, aunts, and grandparents a fantastic, happy year ahead!
To everyone who isn’t feeling their best right now, I hope you get well again very soon!
Since I’m currently on a campervan holiday at Lake Chiemsee and have raided Traudelina’s shop, all my crochet hooks and knitting needles are getting plenty of use now. Of course, I knit on holiday too—it’s especially fun in and in front of the campervan. After all, there’s always room for yarn, even in the tiniest space. ;-)
Right now, I’m working on a baby blanket. And with all my new ideas, I hope it doesn’t end up in the next UFO contest...
Have a lovely weekend and have fun with your needles and balls of yarn! :-)
Oh, and sorry—I forgot to say hello to Klaus.
It’s great to have you here! Klaus, you’re quite a rare specimen. Your wife is really lucky. After all, what man goes looking for patterns for his wife and also wants to learn how to knit and crochet?
Thanks for the greetings—I haven’t found anything suitable yet; I can’t make up my mind. Besides, there’s so much to discover here. By the way, learning to crochet is enough—I’m not going to start knitting because that requires two needles, and I’ve already learned the difference.
Greetings, Klaus
@Michaela: The A8 has “nighttime roadwork” — they’re completely repaving one direction at a time. So one night it’s closed in the direction of Salzburg, the next night in the direction of Munich...
Best regards, Traudelina
My needle isn’t calling me much right now. Thankfully, the flu is subsiding, but now my father is in the hospital, and that’s really worrying me. Well, at least he’s in good hands for now.
Today I’ll squeeze in a few rows of knitting.
