This colorful pullover for toddlers is just right for the bright fall season. It is knitted from cotton and is therefore very comfortable to wear. The knitting pattern describes size 86/92. Based on my current estimate, it will also fit up to size 98 — so approx. from 1.5 to 3 years. The length of the body and sleeves can be adjusted as desired.

The pullover is knitted from the bottom up, almost in one piece. It only needs to be sewn or crocheted together at the shoulder and for a tiny section under the arm.

Difficulty level: intermediate — for advanced or experienced knitters

So in fall, you absolutely need my Rudi
the scarecrow.

I am crocheted in one piece, so only a tiny bit of sewing is needed. My doll mom crocheted me with a 2.5 mm crochet hook, so I ended up about 24 x 24 cm in size.
  • You need for me:
  • -blue yarn
  • -reddish-brown yarn
  • -straw-yellow yarn
  • -2 small buttons + black sewing thread
    • 2 branches, wooden sticks (one 29-35 cm long and one 23 cm
  • -2.5 mm crochet hook
  • -yarn needle
  • -sewing needle
  • -scissors
  • -a leftover bit of black and red yarn for the nose and mouth
  • -stitch marker (e.g., a little piece of thread in a different color)

Kites in the Wind
These crocheted pieces look great in the window, but also as appliqués on bags or clothing. If you crochet the pieces in double layers and stuff them with cotton batting, you can also hang them freely or use them on a mobile. The pattern is suitable for beginners and quick to make. You’ll only need small amounts of yarn—just your leftover yarn.

The Chestnut Child and the two fly agaric mushrooms are a wonderful decoration that captures the autumn mood. Together with a little moss and/or pine cones, they are perfect for an autumn seasonal table.

The little dolls are between 9 cm and 15 cm tall and can be crocheted from just a few bits of leftover yarn. You can bend the arms and legs into different positions because chenille wire (pipe cleaner wire) is inserted inside.
Get this charming autumn decoration now!

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

A wonderfully easy-to-crochet hat for various styles, meaning ONE hat model wearable in all the pictured variations, for both men and women. Easy to make for children too, or as a simple hat for babies (though thinner yarn is recommended).

  • no increases or decreases,
  • no gauge swatch needed (the exact centimeter doesn’t matter),

You need these crochet skills: chain stitches, single crochet.
Everything else and slip stitches are explained. Video link tips for learning to crochet for beginners are included in the PDF.

By the way: A crochet pattern for an infinity scarf to match this hat is also available here in my shop: https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/20003/haekel-moebius-loop-schal-fuer-alle-einfach

Material used here
for the pictured model with a head circumference of 55 cm to 60 cm:
approx. 250 g merino yarn, 50 g – 45 m, crochet hook 6.0; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.
The ribbed pattern requires approx. 50 g more yarn than is normally usual for hats. The crochet hook size should match the yarn being used.

How about this set:

Crochet pattern + knitting pattern
Soul warmer and cuffs - crocheted to look knitted - easy

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

One size - quick and easy

Whether crocheted or knitted: a cozy piece like this is popular all year round, whether on cool late-summer days, as an outdoor jacket in the transitional season, or on the couch in winter.

And yes, the crochet pattern looks knitted and is just as cuddly soft.
But knitters will also get their money’s worth. The stitch pattern is very similar.

The PDF pattern is detailed and illustrated over 23 pages and includes both the crochet pattern and the knitting pattern for the soul warmer and the arm/leg warmers.

The stitches used are explained with pictures.
So general crochet or knitting knowledge is sufficient.

Basically, any yarn you like can be used. However, the amount of yarn can vary greatly depending on your choice of yarn and needle/hook size. Details are provided in the pattern. My yarn usage when using an alpaca yarn, 50 g – 100 m, according to the label for needle size 3 – 4, but used here: crochet hook size 8.0

  • for the soul warmer approx. 500 g in the crochet version (approx. 800 g in the knitted version with needle size 6.0),
  • for the cuffs approx. 100 g in both versions

A useful "tool" to make knitting and crocheting even more fun
:
Gauge conversion table - Crochet and knitting - Calculation aid

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This Excel spreadsheet is a tool for converting your personal gauge into the required number of stitches for your knitting/crochet project.

Technical note:
This requires the Excel spreadsheet program or another spreadsheet program that can be downloaded for free from the internet, such as LibreOffice. Open the file by double-clicking and click "Enable Editing".

And here's how it works:
Enter the result of your gauge swatch as well as the details for the specific pattern, and the required number of stitches will appear automatically.

Soft and warm:

Crochet Pattern: Poncho with Möbius Shawl Collar (Loop) - Easy

(Please click the image to purchase/download)

Quick and easy to crochet...

With this crochet method, you can decide while crocheting how large the poncho should be – you simply stop crocheting whenever you like.

The poncho and Möbius scarf are made with thick gradient yarn, 100 g – 100 m, and a 8.0 mm crochet hook. Yarn needed for both pieces: approx. 700 g.

The PDF pattern includes the poncho and Möbius scarf and is illustrated, but it is not a crochet course in itself.

These crochet skills are needed:
chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches, crocheting in rows, crocheting in rounds.

By the way: in a Möbius scarf, the pattern you make is mirrored, i.e. one horizontal half appears like a right outer side, while the second half appears like a wrong-side pattern interior. This creates sophisticated effects.

An elegant combination:

Crochet Beanie 'Tabata' & Möbius Cowl/Loop (m/f)

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This crochet set (m/f) in fashionable gray consists of a beanie and a Möbius cowl/loop.

The PDF pattern is written for a head circumference of 52 cm – 60 cm and includes both – hat and loop (loop in one size).

It is illustrated, but requires general crochet skills (chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, crocheting in rounds, slip stitches, increases and decreases). The special stitches are illustrated and described. Difficulty level: intermediate.

For the hat, 150 g are needed, and for the loop, 100 g of a yarn with 50 g – 75 m yardage is required. Unlike the hook size on the yarn label, this is crocheted with crochet hook sizes 8.0 and 10.0.

Feet love hand-knitted socks:
Sock-knitting course for 4-ply yarn - all sizes for baby, children’s, women’s, and men’s socks

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

..both little and big feet will be happy..

This is an illustrated sock-knitting course using baby socks size 15, knitted with 4-ply sock yarn, with tables for all sizes

Included in the download :

  • Detailed illustrated main PDF pattern
  • hand-drawn sketches
  • baby sock table for sizes 15 - 20
  • sock table for sizes 22 - 47
Integrated into the main pattern is a short baby mitten pattern, since parts of the baby sock pattern can be used for it.

Don’t be alarmed! It is harder to describe the process than to knit the socks.

Required materials:
4-ply sock yarn (for example, Ferner “Lungauer Sockengarn” merino sock yarns are wonderfully soft, or Austermann “Step” with aloe vera and jojoba, or “Comfort” with cashmere)

  • approx. 15 g for the baby socks,
  • approx. 10 g for the baby mittens,
  • for adult socks up to size 44: 100 g,
  • if larger than size 44, then 150 g is required.
Set of double-pointed needles size 2.5, tape measure, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

There is also a sock-knitting course for thicker socks:

Knitting pattern
Socks made with 6-ply yarn - course with tables for all sizes

A set of double-pointed needles size 3.5 is used for this.

Baby Traditional Knit Cardigan Size 50/56, incl. gauge conversion chart

(Click the image to purchase/download )

...THE classic traditional style in miniature...

For this easy-to-knit baby traditional-style cardigan , you will need approx. 100 g of 4-ply sock yarn, e.g., Zimba Top by Schoeller+Stahl in classic traditional gray + 50 g (or leftover yarn) for the edging in traditional green, knitting needle size 3.0; if needed, a size 3–3.5 crochet hook for the decorative foundation chain on the placket.

The PDF pattern includes illustrations .

Also included in the download as a bonus is a simplified version of my Excel spreadsheet for quickly converting your gauge to the desired size (applicable to all knitted/crocheted pieces; a spreadsheet program is required, e.g., Excel or LibreOffice—the latter is available for free online).

Basic knitting skills are required (i.e., these steps are not illustrated).
Required knitting skills : cross cast-on, knit stitches, bind off, increase stitches from the strand between stitches, yarn over (for the buttonholes), knit 2 together.

P.S.: This jacket can also be knitted as a vest without sleeves (in which case, crochet around the armholes once in green using single crochet stitches).

New in August 2017:

Baby traditional-style jacket OANS GLATT - OANS GNÄDLT - knitting pattern

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Translation: Oans glatt = knit 1 stitch; oans Gnädlt = purl 1 stitch (comes from its appearance, like a dumpling). But don’t worry. The knitting pattern is not written in Bavarian, but in standard German - grin..

The pattern is worked out in detail for size 70, with adjustment options for sizes 50 to 104.

It uses basic knitting techniques plus cabling, knitting stitches together, increasing stitches from the strand between stitches – everything is explained with pictures. Difficulty level: intermediate.

The download includes:

  • PDF knitting pattern with plenty of pictures (29 pages) incl. short version for printing
  • PDF Knitting Basics – basic knitting techniques with pictures
  • PDF baby measurements for this traditional jacket model sizes 50 to 104

Material
:

150 g (size 104: possibly 200 g) 6-ply sock yarn, Regia Tweed, 70% virgin wool, 25% polyamide, 50 g – 125 m for needle size 3.0 to 4.0; plus 50 g denim blue; gauge according to the yarn label: 22 stitches x 30 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm. Used here: knitting needles size 3.5; stitch marker is helpful; cable needle, stitch holder or another knitting needle for holding the neck stitches, yarn needle for weaving in ends, scissors.

Have you tried it yet?

3 Techniques - Knitted Möbius Scarf, Collar, Headband

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Here, the basic principle and three cast-on techniques for knitting Möbius scarves/loops are presented. Try them out and choose your favorite method :-)

The PDF pattern is richly illustrated and contains 2 patterns (see image gallery).

Model 1 – Colorful - is a Möbius loop/scarf with a circumference of approx. 90 cm and a height of approx. 20 cm, which can be worn wonderfully in different variations as a shoulder warmer and neck warmer (see image). For this we only need 1 skein of Woolly Hugs Bandy, here color no. 7, 100 g – 210 m, 100% cotton, gauge according to the label: 14 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm; circular knitting needle size 6.0 with a cable length of 1 m; stitch marker; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends. If necessary, a leftover bit of a slightly thinner yarn in a matching color (e.g. Record 210 – potholder yarn, here in green) and crochet hook 4.5.

Model II – Möbius Collar in Milky White snuggles wonderfully around the neck like a turtleneck, but can also be worn as a headband. This model makes a wonderful gift and can be knitted in just a few hours. For this we only need 1 skein of merino yarn, 50 g – 85 m, e.g. Merino 85 by Austermann or Schachenmayr, 100% merino, according to the label for needle size 6 – 7 and a gauge of 16 sts x 22 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm. Used here: circular knitting needle 6.0, cable length 80 cm to 100 cm; stitch marker; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

Both models are worked in a simple reversible rib pattern.

These knitting skills are required:
Casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knitting in the round, knitting stitches together, purling stitches together, yarn over, binding off. A basic knitting course is not included, but link tips are provided.

There is also a calculation aid for this (for info and purchase, please click the image):

Have lots of Möbius fun!

These are absolute lightweights:

Model 1:

Cardigan/Long Cardigan MARGIT Size 38 to 46 One Size - Oversize

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This comfortable, cozy knitted piece in an oversized style weighs only approx. 275 g with the yarns used here, so it is featherlight. Both stitch patterns used are absolutely easy. The collar design requires a bit of care. The length is variable.

The model shown is knitted with two strands and size 6.0 mm needles using 175 g KidSilk by Austermann plus 100 g Merino Lace by Austermann. Alternatively, you can choose yarns with a needle size suitable for the yarn that roughly correspond to a gauge of 17 sts = approx. 10 cm with 6.0 mm knitting needles, e.g. approx. 450 g Dolce Mohair (Mondial) - knitted with a single strand. Additional yarn alternatives - also without mohair - are listed in the pattern. Stitch markers are highly recommended.

The illustrated PDF pattern with stitch- and row-by-row instructions is based on the gauge mentioned above. The pattern does not include a knitting course, but it does include relevant link tips.

*************************************

Model 2:

Cardigan Gita - Size 36 to 42 One Size

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Suitable for all seasons – whether worn over or under – simple and with an eye-catching collar area, like Model 1. Both stitch patterns used are - as with Model 1 -  absolutely easy (only knit and purl stitches). Here, too: the collar design requires a bit of care, so the difficulty level is: intermediate.
The sleeves are knitted with a sleeve cap, unlike the “Margit” model. The length is variable.

The illustrated pattern with stitch- and row-by-row instructions is based on a gauge of approx. 14.5 sts = approx. 10 cm with 6.0 mm knitting needles. Because of the cardigan’s relaxed shape and stretchiness, as with Model 1, one stitch more or less is not too crucial. If there are larger deviations in gauge, please choose a larger or smaller knitting needle size. This pattern also does not include a knitting course, but it does include relevant link tips.

We need
225 g KidSilk by Austermann, color 40 Emerald, 75% kid mohair, 25% silk, details according to the yarn label: needles 3 – 4 mm, 18 sts x 26 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm, hand wash, 25 g – 225 m yardage; alternative yarns: e.g. Kid-Seta (Schulana) or Kid Mohair/KidSilk (Adriafil) – the same amount in each case for the total back length knitted here of approx. 71 cm. This material is knitted with two strands. Additional alternative yarns are listed in the pattern.

Used here: size 6.0 mm knitting needles, pins, measuring tape, yarn needle for weaving in ends, scissors, stitch markers, row counter if needed.

A wonderfully lightweight poncho—but thanks to the camel hair, still very warm.

The technique is basically kept simple—but the small cable border adds the finishing touch!
The snowmen worked in with beadwork technique also look very nice and at the same time serve as weighting, which ensures a neat drape.

Even beginners will enjoy this project!

This pattern is designed for sizes 38/40.
However, the included cut and the gauge make it possible to make any size!

A detailed description guides you through the entire knitting process.

And here is the pattern and more details...

Do you like having something around your neck, but get annoyed when scarves are either too warm or too cold?
The “Elegancia” loop scarf is the ideal middle ground.
When it’s still a little warm in the fall, wrapped twice around your neck it’s a great accessory; in winter, wrapped three times around your neck, it keeps you wonderfully warm!

I crocheted this beautiful piece using about 1,000 m of 3-ply gradient yarn and a 3.0 mm crochet hook.
Of course, the pattern can also be crocheted with any other yarn.

You should be familiar with the following: chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, treble crochet, puff stitches (If you have no experience with puff stitches: don’t worry! The download includes an extra file in which these are explained)

So, get the pattern here and start right away!

Have fun! :)

The 1980s were really something special fashion-wise...
... but what has stayed and is still (or is once again) on trend are puff sleeves!
Such beautifully romantic sweaters can be worn in any season!

The yarn used - a blend of silk, mohair, camel, and merino - supports the lightness of this sweater! Silkhair or something similar also works perfectly!
The boat neckline adds to the effect.

This project is absolutely suitable for beginners, as the pattern is kept very simple.

All patterns used are described in detail - stitch by stitch -, and a knitting chart also helps with the knitting process.

This pattern is designed for sizes S-M and L-XL.
However, the included cut/pattern outline and the gauge make it possible to make any size!

And here’s the pattern and more details...
