Crochet Christmas ornaments or decorations and win

Would you be interested in a contest where people crochet Christmas ornaments or decorations, and whoever uploads photos can win a small prize? The concept is similar to the guardian angel contest.
Is anyone in the mood for this as we approach the holiday season? Or are you all more or less caught up in the pre-Christmas rush?

I’ve almost finished mine. I’m putting LED lights inside the ornaments, and this year, only homemade decorations will go on the tree.

My better half has asked me to find out about the contest rules. Is there any information available yet?
Dear Bastelhilde, that looks great. You clearly have a talent for this.

Well, Christmas decorations are relatively small and quick to make, so they’re actually perfect for a contest, right?

Thanks, Richard—just 6 more ornaments and I’ll be done.
I’ve already made quite a few angels and stars over the past few years.

Well, I guess that’s settled! The challenge is already underway.

Hello Petra,

The thread was started 4 days ago, and no one has shown any interest except Natalija. She not only wanted to participate, but also offered her own prize money. Christmas is already very close, and we had to act quickly. I hope there will be a few more designers willing to join in by Easter.

Best regards
Alexander

Hi Alexander,
Point 1: It was posted in the general forum. To me, that means buyers and NOT sellers are being addressed.

Point 2: Josefa’s wording is: “Would you like to crochet Christmas ornaments or decorations, and whoever uploads the photos can win something?” That, too, clearly refers to buyers and not sellers.

Point 3: Richard asked about the contest rules the very next day and didn’t receive a response.

I, as a designer, therefore didn’t feel addressed. These kinds of things are usually discussed in the Designer Forum and not in the general forum. So I think it’s very unfair to write that no one except Natalija would have been interested in it.

Good for Natalija—once again, bad luck for the rest of us.

Best regards, Melanie

As far as I’m concerned, everyone was included. If I’d only meant buyers, I would have written @Buyers or @Interested Parties. I wanted to put something together with both buyers and sellers. I actually meant to reply to Richard today or tomorrow, but then our posts crossed.

Sure, of course ...

I also think that the title “Crochet Christmas Ornaments and Win” in the general forum didn’t really do much to reach the designers. Josefa has opened sooooo many threads lately that it was somehow counterproductive. No one even looks there anymore.
But if it helps us to contact you directly from now on—which is probably what Natalija did—we might as well just forget about the forum altogether.
Maybe it would also be a good idea to consider putting things like this into a seller newsletter. There are only a handful of people on the forum here anyway.
... and when I then also have to read that Natalija is even bringing her own prize money, it makes me smile. The increased advertising is, after all, leading to excellent sales, which ultimately also result in the prize money for the Christmas promotion featuring the best-selling Christmas products.
With that in mind... have a lovely Advent season....

First, there were no specific contest terms or a date here for the sellers

Second, Richard clearly showed interest, and wanting to reply to him only after it has been decided that Natalija got the contest (since he didn’t get any answer at all)
just can’t be right.

I can only agree with Melanie, Petra, and Osaki — the devil always sh...... on the biggest pile. Sorry for the expression.
With that in mind, have a lovely first Advent Sunday.

I don’t feel neglected by the moderators at all. We had some very nice private messages on November 26 and 27.
My better half refuses to post here on the forum because she finds the way people treat each other too harsh on some days. I couldn’t really understand that at first, but I’m slowly starting to get it now. Can that really be the point of a forum—to drive paying customers—my better half has a prepaid account and shops here regularly—out of the forum? In my opinion, that shouldn’t be the case. We’ve decided that when making future purchases of patterns, we’ll take the seller’s behavior into account as well as the quality of the patterns.
Please don’t take your arguments out on me—I’m stepping away from this thread now.

The tone here is harsh ... I don’t feel that way, but that’s subjective, of course. Naturally, everyone is free to decide what criteria they use when buying patterns. Nevertheless, I won’t let anyone imply that I’m not interested. And if the communication is now apparently happening by PM—because this was negotiated not only with natalija, but apparently also with customers—then in the future I probably won’t need to make the effort to look at the forum anymore

Wishing you a lovely and peaceful Christmas season

Dear Richard, I’m really sorry that you seem to have completely misunderstood this thread. No one here wants to argue, especially not at your expense. We were just stating facts here. And we all—or at least I—appreciate Josefa’s work.
