Dear users, dear designers,
in summer, working with cotton is very pleasant because it doesn’t feel so warm in your hands. I’m dedicating this thread to all patterns that can be made with cotton, or even with leftover cotton / leftover yarn made of cotton.
Despite the summer heat, I wish you lots of fun with your crafting at all times.

@Designers,
here you can showcase summer cotton patterns / cotton leftover-yarn projects with no quantity limit.
Don’t forget the link and image and the usual info.

This knitted shopping bag is made of pure cotton.

The bag comes in two versions—one made with thin cotton and one with thick cotton. The amount of yarn needed and the needle size depend on which version you choose. Thanks to the onion stitch pattern (knitting chart included), the bag is very stretchy, so you can fit a lot inside it.

Knitting pattern for a striped cotton short-sleeved cardigan

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Stripes are totally on trend. With a top under this comfortable-to-wear cotton short-sleeved cardigan, you’ll be wonderfully dressed both at work and in your free time. And
when it gets a bit cooler, a thin turtleneck can also be worn
underneath.

The PDF pattern is illustrated over 23 pages.

These knitting skills are required:
Casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knitting stitches together, yarn over, decorative decreases and increases from the strand between stitches (explained with illustrations).
Difficulty level: intermediate

You will need
in total for sizes S to L approx. 450 g of Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl), 100% mercerized cotton, ball band details: 50 g – 125 m yardage, needle size 2.5–3.5 mm, gauge: 26 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm with the following color distribution:

  • Blue 100 g
  • White 100 g
  • Dark green 150 g
  • Light green 100 g
Depending on the size, more or less leftover yarn will remain from each skein.

Here I used: 3.5 mm knitting needles, 3 stitch holders and 1 cable for holding the stitches, stitch markers and row counter (not absolutely necessary), pins for blocking, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

A light and airy boho summer scarf made of cotton:

Boho in Soho.

This one is a bit unconventional because it’s both knitted and crocheted. The long section is knitted lengthwise, while the ends with the fringes are crocheted.

Potholders are always a nice little project that doesn’t feel heavy in your hands, even on hot days. This one is knitted in a simple knit-purl pattern and is definitely suitable for beginners as well. It’s also great for using up leftover yarn; about 40 m of cotton is enough.

Here is the pattern.

Wonderfully soft and gentle on the skin, this stole is knitted in brioche stitch.

You can find the pattern here.

The pattern is very well suited for cotton yarns, but of course you can also use other yarns. The amount needed depends on the desired length, but I would plan for at least 600 m.
The pattern is easy. If you have never knitted brioche stitch before, it is clearly explained with pictures.

This little bookmark is best knitted in cotton.

A small amount is enough — you’ll need about 20 meters and 2 double-pointed needles. The pattern is written out row by row and also presented in a knitting chart.
A pretty, quick project for in between projects.

A detailed description (row by row) guides you through the crochet process.

The pattern also includes an illustrated step-by-step explanation for making the fringe.

The dimensions are approximately: length: approx. 145 cm (without fringe), width: approx. 55 cm
