Hello everyone,

Does anyone perhaps have a "better side" when knitting stockinette stitch? For example, are the purl stitches looser than the knit stitches?

Then an extra knitting needle half a size, or possibly even a full needle size, thinner than the "normal" knitting needle size you are using can help. In this case: knit the row with the knit stitches using the normal needle size, and knit the wrong side row with the purl stitches using the slightly thinner needle.

Don’t be afraid—that’s my tip. Have you seen a great cable pattern somewhere but don’t think you can do it? Just give it a try! The stitches won’t bite you; the worst that can happen is that you’ll have to rip out a few rows. The best thing that can happen is that you’ll pull it off.
