Loom Bandz—there are now patterns for them, too

Hi everyone
I always thought Loom Bandz were really just for kids, but I think the trend has spread to adults now, too.
But I was totally surprised when I saw a tutorial video for a cell phone case with Loom Bandz on Redaktion Hug’s YouTube channel.
Redaktion Hug is pretty much at the forefront when it comes to YouTube videos and pattern books—at least as far as I can tell. I think that’s really amazing.

The hook they’re using there looks like a plastic crochet hook—or rather, it probably is a plastic crochet hook. Those little rubber bands seem to be a bit stubborn at times and don’t want to slide onto the hook very easily. I mean, it’s obviously a lot of fiddly work, but since you don’t have a continuous thread—just the little rubber rings—the result looks really good. Personally, I’m not a big fan of rubber stuff because hair always gets caught in it and stuff.
But I think I’m pretty much alone in this opinion, considering how popular Loom Bandz are.

Do any of you have an idea for a pattern? I just think you can really let your creativity run wild with this, and that people would be happy to have some patterns. What do you think?

I think I missed a trend here, considering there are already so many tutorial videos on YouTube. Somehow, the whole thing reminds me a lot of a more advanced version of French knitting. :)

Dear Mützekatze,
unfortunately, Loom Bandz aren’t really my thing. I prefer wool for my crafts. Maybe you have to be a kid to get excited about Loom Bandz.

Please, no Loom Bandz here in the forum or in the shop. That trend is kind of over.
