Converting Crochet Charts

Hi! I have a finished pattern for crocheted barefoot sandals, but unfortunately they’re a little too big for my daughter. I know how to crochet, but I don’t know how to adjust the pattern. Could someone maybe help me?

Not every crochet chart can be “converted” — that is, modified — to make the project smaller or larger, but you can simply use a thinner yarn and a smaller hook size, and that will make it smaller.
Is there a gauge?

Nein, leider nicht. Das Garn ist schon recht dünn und ich häkle mit ner 3er Nadel. Kann man hier Fotos hochladen?

Variante 1:
hier würde es reichen, wenn Du einfach die Bögen, die ja mit Luftmaschen beginnen um je 2 oder 4 Maschen pro Bogen kürzen würdest. Dann würde die Sandale etwas kürzer in der Länge und etwas schmaler über dem Spann werden.
Variante 2:
Im Kreis anstatt Doppelstäbchen einfache Stäbchen häkeln und in der vorletzten Runde anstatt Stäbchen halbe Stäbchen häkeln. Da weiß ich aber nicht, wie es das Gesamtbild verändern würde.

Have you already asked the author of the crochet pattern for advice?
For the patterns here on Crazypatterns, that is part of the service, but normally you can also ask authors and even publishers for advice elsewhere.
That might be an additional option besides the tips from our users/authors here in the thread.
