Hello
I found an article that—I'm at a loss for the right word—I think is off the mark.
http://www.brigitte.de/frauen/stimmen/diy-trend-1216100/
The lady in the article is apparently very annoyed by the DIY trend. Everyone may and should have their own opinion on what I'll call current topics. But apparently the lady has not understood that handicrafts, if you want to do them well, require a lot of know-how, a lot of training, a lot of practice, and a lot of competence. To infer a lack of emancipation from doing handicrafts is, in my opinion, exaggerated. In my opinion, the article contains exaggeration; nevertheless, one has to keep in mind that the article only reflects the author's opinion. In this article series, different voices with very different life stories are allowed and encouraged to have their say. I really enjoy reading this article series; it broadens one's horizons, but I would not have included this article in the series. The author tells less about herself than the other ladies in the article series do. But the point was actually supposed to be that she tells something from her life, instead of just venting her anger.
I am not the only reader who found this article not entirely fitting; if you scroll down a bit, you can read a comment from the Brigitte editorial team right below the article. Apparently several readers complained. In the comments section, which can be found at the very bottom of the page under the article tips, there is a heated and controversial discussion. I simply wanted to share this with you, even though I am aware that you probably won't share the opinion of the lady in the article.
What do you think about it?
Sunny greetings
Sidney
