You’ll need two different colors of yarn (150m per 50g); wool-blend yarns or pure wool work very well, along with 3mm knitting needles.
You should be familiar with the basics of the technique; this is not a pattern for beginners. The scarf is made up of different motifs that are mirrored halfway through. Additionally, the colors are mirrored on the front and back, creating a very charming effect.
The individual motifs are shown in knitting charts.

A shawl that takes some time to make - knitted in a brioche pattern.

The pattern is simple and relaxing, and I would say it is suitable for adventurous beginners. Basically, you should know how to knit and purl; the brioche pattern is explained in a photo tutorial.
The shawl in the pictures is made from a cotton-blend yarn with 329 m per 100 g, knitted on 3.5 mm needles. Other yarns are also suitable; you just need to adjust the needle size to the yarn used. The amount needed depends on the desired size.

Maybe a SCARF in a patchwork pattern is

if you have more time, or on a rainy day, you can knit a whole row,

This door wreath does take a bit of time. The great thing about it is that, because of the many individual parts, making it is varied. You can work on the wreath for longer, or just crochet one small piece—just as you feel like it; after all, that’s what vacation should be like.

The pattern is written without abbreviations.

Depending on how large you want this shawl to be, it can certainly take a while—and your vacation is saved :-) maybe at the Bavarian Sea, Lake Chiemsee...

Finished measurements here 150 cm x 65 cm - any desired size is possible.

These knitting skills are used:

Used here: 50 g light turquoise + 50 g darker turquoise Ferner Wolle Merino Lace hand-dyed, 100% merino, 50 g – 250 m for needle size 2.0 to 3.0; used here: circular knitting needles 3.0 with different cable lengths (60 cm for the beginning, then switch to 80 cm cable length), circular knitting needle 4.0 at least 80 cm cable length; yarn needle for weaving in ends, scissors; crochet hook size 2.5.

No gauge required.
Gauge information only for yarn selection: My gauge with needle size 3.0:
in stockinette stitch 30 sts = approx. 10 cm.

Knitted Poncho/Stole, featherlight - very easy

This is a short pattern for a featherlight and very easy-to-knit poncho in one size, made from just 100 g of KidSilk (Austermann). However, I advise beginners against mohair yarns, as they can hardly be unraveled. Gradient (lace) yarns are also great for this.

The PDF pattern includes the preview image.

Required knitting skills:
casting on, edge stitch (your favorite edge stitch), knit and purl stitches, bind off.

By the way: The poncho can also be knitted nicely as a warm outdoor poncho using thick wool, 100 g - 100 m, with size 8.0 needles. The required yarn amount is then approx. 700 g. The number of stitches is always based on your individual gauge.

size and length can be individually adjusted to the wearer.

As a short top, long shirt, dress, or tied under the bust as a tunic, it’s an absolute dream for summer.

And the best part: You can reverse it; the other side also has a great pattern and
looks completely different. It is crocheted from top to bottom in one piece,
so no annoying weaving in ends.

This pretty summer top can be wonderfully worn with a skirt or over pants.

With a little perseverance, you can lengthen it into a dress. The pattern is divided by cup sizes:

The bust measurement and the length of the top are individually adjusted to the wearer, so larger sizes are of course possible too.

Anyone who wants to enjoy their knitting project for a long time might like to take on a stole that can be expanded as much as desired.

The original is knitted from pure merino wool with a yardage of 105 m per 50 g. However, you can easily use other yarns as well, such as cotton or viscose, or even sock yarn for a lighter summer shawl. The amount needed depends on the desired size.
The stole is knitted lengthwise. This means you can stop at any time once the desired width has been reached—or keep going. The pattern is a simple cable and lace pattern that is both written out row by row and shown in knitting charts.

A wonderful vacation project for anyone who wants to combine color gradients or solid shades with delicate lace knitting is the knitted shawl Tinuviel.




Tinuviel is a large, crescent-shaped shawl that was designed especially for Schoppel’s “Laceball 100” and “Zauberball 100” lace yarns, but can also be knitted with any other lace yarn (or even a yarn cake). It is knitted from the top down; even increases along the edge and within the shawl create its shape.

You can make this beautiful and large seat cushion yourself. It is approx. 52 cm in diameter and approx. 65 cm high. However, the width/height can be adjusted as desired.

• The pattern is illustrated in detail and suitable for beginners with basic crochet skills. 
• For this pattern, you should know the following stitches and terms: magic ring, chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches, crochet together.

The baby blanket "Marie" takes a bit of time, but since the pattern repeats again and again, you can sit down comfortably in a corner and simply let your thoughts drift while crocheting.
 
The blanket measures 80 x 100 cm. That way, you can fold it double at first and the baby will stay nice and warm. Once the child is bigger, you can use the blanket single-layer. So you'll get a lot of use out of this blanket for a very long time.

And my extra tip for you! I also really like using blankets in this size for car rides. Especially in the early morning, when it's still colder, or in winter, they're great for quickly covering up the children.

You can put together the color gradient for this blanket yourself, since individual strands were used here. The yarn used was the cuddly soft Omega by Lang Yarns.

Airy crescent shawl with a great, challenging pattern!

The shawl is a small challenge—not because of the stitches to be crocheted, but because every row has a different pattern. You definitely won’t get bored while crocheting!

For the Ayana crescent shawl, about 150 g of sock yarn is needed.

The pattern includes 18 pages—there is a crochet chart for all rows, a written description of all rows (with photos for each row), as well as a short version of the description without photos for printing.

Because of the constantly changing stitch sequences, the shawl takes more time than other shawls with a repeating pattern and is therefore not something to crochet “on the side.” It is better suited for somewhat more advanced crocheters, even though the required stitches are basics.

This is the Othello dog family :-) If you have one, you need the whole family. Vacation comes at just the right time for that.

The large dog is crocheted with acrylic (approx. 210 g - 50 g/133 m) and the little offspring with cotton yarn (approx. 95 g - 100 g/530 m), chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet. Increases and decreases, and then Othello is actually quick to crochet. Every amigurumi lover is sure to have some stuffing on hand, a long blunt needle, and you can either use bear eyes or embroider them. From 50 cm (standing) to 23 cm... or somewhere in between if you use a different yarn.

The vacation project 2017 ;-)

With this pattern, you can crochet yourself a whole soccer team, and every doll will look different. She can also put the pacifier or her thumb in her mouth. 

Mimi and her friends can be changed however you like. Give them different clothes, change the face shape by stuffing them differently, or use different eyes and ears. Includes the various outfits and the pacifier. Everything is described in the pattern.
Single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. Slip stitches, increases and decreases, a little stuffing, and the right hook for the yarn. Which yarn you use is not crucial. It only changes the size. With 100 g cotton (50g/125m ) and a size 3 crochet hook, you already have the doll. And depending on the outfit, you can also use up leftover yarn.
