Good morning! I'm stuck on the handle for the cute cup—it says "8 sc," but how do I start it? :-(

I have the pattern too, so I’ll just jump in before the author does:
you work the 8 sc (as described at the beginning) into a magic ring.

Ahh, instead of 6, I'll make 8, and then in the second round, 8 sc until round 16—is that right?

You can also start without a magic ring. Chain 5 and join with a slip stitch. Then work 8 single crochets into that loop.
