The “quirky bird of paradise” hand puppet is wonderful to crochet in between. Here, too, you can use up colorful leftovers and give your imagination free rein when choosing the colors. With this crochet pattern, you can crochet your own little lucky charm for your bag!! The cute mini piggy is only about 4–5 cm in size and is perfect as a small keychain or bag charm. The pattern also explains how to crochet the clover step by step, with plenty of pictures. Since the piglet can be crocheted very quickly (experienced crocheters can finish it in under an hour), it’s the perfect gift for New Year’s! :-)What you’ll need

• Leftover yarn (about 8g) in pink, as well as leftover yarn in green (only about 4g), suitable for a 2mm crochet hook (I used Schachenmayr Regia).
• Googly eyes / adhesive eyes and superglue
• A thin string or cord to hang the clover together with the piglet
• A little stuffing
• 2mm crochet hook
• Scissors, darning needle

Difficulty level: Easy, suitable for beginners. The piglet is crocheted entirely in single crochet stitches (you should be able to make a magic ring) and is therefore also ideal for crochet beginners! The clover is crocheted using a magic ring, single crochet stitches, and double crochet stitches. I explain this process in great detail, with plenty of pictures in the pattern, so that even as a beginner you’ll understand everything.

The funny clown is so quick and easy to crochet that it can almost be finished during a coffee break! In any case, it’s very good for using up leftover yarn and is also recommended for beginners, because it is worked with only single crochet stitches.

Potholder - the crochet classic

This potholder is considered a classic for crochet beginners.

For this, you need 50 g of cotton yarn per color for a size 4.5 crochet hook.

The PDF pattern is illustrated, but it is not a crochet course.

The following basic crochet skills are required: (turning) chain stitch, single crochet, and slip stitch

Tunisian crochet is easy. Just try it out with these patterns.

Basic crochet skills are enough. The various simple Tunisian patterns are described in detail and illustrated.

4-in-1 PDF pattern:

• a pillow 33 cm x 33 cm, “filled” with 2 towels or stuffing, etc., or 40 cm x 40 cm or your desired size
• easily convertible into a bag/pouch.
• plus a seat pad for hiking and
• a glasses case for sunglasses

Depending on the color combination, the textured pattern always looks a little different.

The dimensions can easily be adjusted to any desired size .

We need

100 g in the main color (turquoise here) and 50 g in the secondary color (beige here) of a yarn 50 g – 100 m, for needle/hook size according to the label 3.5 – 4.0, a suitable Tunisian crochet hook or a knooking needle, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends, pins;
gauge according to the label of the yarn used here: 18.5 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm

The amount of yarn is also enough for a 40 cm x 40 cm pillow. For larger pillows, please calculate correspondingly more yarn.

A granny square is always a good choice. Quickly crochet a few rows, then back into the bag until the next break.


There are now 5 different granny squares that can be wonderfully combined into a granny pattern mix blanket. All sides have the same number of stitches, so sewing them together is easy.

I used Catania by Schachenmayr, but of course they can also be crocheted with a different yarn.

Either in bright, colorful shades to add little pops of color, or in classic colors like white or red, for example to decorate the Christmas table.
You only need a few grams of yarn per coaster (it’s best to use a durable cotton yarn so you can quickly wash the coasters in the machine if needed, but any other yarn will work too—the size of the coasters will vary depending on the yardage and thickness of the yarn), so you can pick up your crochet hook every now and then and/or on the go!

Absolutely recommended as beginner projects, since you’ll achieve the desired result quickly!
