Lottery winnings: What would you do with them? (No advertising)

Dear users, dear authors,
Let’s say you win about 1 million in the lottery.
What would you do with it?

Oh, with so many children, it would be divided equally and therefore reduced. Each child would get their share paid out,

and I’d treat myself to a conservatory... and a cleaner ;-)

I’d completely renovate my house—including a hobby room, of course—and buy a pharmacy.

A lottery win?

It might sound clichéd, but I don’t know.

I do have a few dreams, though:

• a Tesla,
• a vacation home in Denmark,
• a gardener,
• I’d let my husband retire.

Ohhh, winning the lottery would be amazing!

So, first of all, I’d buy a house :-) with a great hobby room.
And then I’d travel the world!! :-) :-)

Hmmm, tough question. Invest a portion of it so we can live off the proceeds. With today’s negative interest rates, that probably means it’ll end up under the mattress :D
Otherwise, we’d travel the world first to see where we’d most like to live. And then maybe emigrate.

I’d set aside a hefty sum for each of my kids, give my husband plenty of free time (he wouldn’t retire voluntarily…), have contractors finish the remaining renovations on the house, fulfill just about every major wish my parents have, and hire a housekeeper for every day (then I could crochet more ;) ).

And I’d donate larger sums to a few charity projects that are special to us.

Pay off the mortgage right away, build a pool and a nice garden shed, and go on vacation. (Tokyo, Canada, or both… and New Zealand.)
Of course, I’d have someone else do the renovations on the house :D 

We’ve just bought a house too, so we could pay that off as well. It’s actually already almost perfect as it is, so not much would need to be done. But we could convert the attic....
Well, and then my husband absolutely "needs" an Aston Martin or a Jaguar or something like that :-) and I’d like a cute little city car, but it doesn’t have to be anything exciting.
And then invest a little and take a nice vacation. 
Maybe also a tiny holiday apartment on the Baltic Sea. 

I’ve got lots of ideas — now all that’s missing is the win :-)

I’m honestly at a loss here. Give some of it away, donate some, and use the rest to buy more lottery tickets?

Renovate the apartment and move into a really luxurious hotel while the work is being done. Then hire a housekeeper. The rest goes to the kids and grandkids.

We often talk about what would happen if. Maybe I should finally start playing...

Personally, I’d hire a cleaner right away, even against my husband’s wishes. And I’d only work part-time from then on.
I need a new car—my current one has definitely seen better days. But as long as it still passes inspection, I’ll keep driving it. Every year now, I’m nervous about whether it’ll last another year. And then I could buy the car I really want, not just one I can afford. So, a Tesla!

That’s it. All my other wishes can’t be bought with money.

But there’s one thing I’d definitely do if I had more time: set up a craft circle in our area. The last time there was one, my kids were so little that I couldn’t really go out in the evenings. And now it has disbanded, and I don’t have the time to organize one myself.

Give some of it away, invest the rest wisely, and then pack my backpack and go traveling. If you stay in budget accommodations, the money will last forever. And then I’d finally be able to write books again…

With a lottery win of 1 million euros, we would:

Pay off our mortgage here in full, buy a house in Garmisch, and move there.
Buy a new car, give each child a share, and invest the rest.
Oh, and I’d buy a looooooot of yarn.

I’d cut my full-time job back to part-time (then I’d have more time to crochet ;-))

Look for a different apartment. Buy new furniture. And go on vacation.
My daughter needs a new, bigger car.
I’m sure I’ll think of many more things I want.

I’d buy or have a multigenerational home built on the Baltic Sea with a large creative space where I could sew, crochet, and do crafts.

I’d invest another portion of the money and use the rest to buy all the things I’ve always wanted… an embroidery machine, endless amounts of yarn, fabrics in every color, a whole new set of furniture, and new clothes until my closet bursts at the seams. 

If I won the lottery, I’d pay off the house, cut back on work hours, or do something completely different. Buy a motorhome and travel a lot!!!

I’d fulfill our dream of owning a house with a large, secure yard, then take in a whole bunch of “rescue cats” and give them a beautiful life worthy of cats. I’d also buy my mom a nice, senior-friendly apartment in a green, peaceful neighborhood. But other than that, I have to admit that I’m already very happy with what I—and we—have. You can’t buy the most important things in life with money anyway.
