Hello,

are these 2 identical patterns?

Mini socks in size 36-47 crochet pattern

and

PDF crochet pattern: Colorful slippers, size 34-41

Are Natalija and Häkelteufel the same person?

Best, Karo

Hi Karo,

those two are definitely not the same people.
If I can judge that as a “shoe novice”:

the way the toe is shaped looks very different in both patterns.
The pattern itself is also fundamentally different.
Visually, the shoes don’t seem to have anything in common to me.

You just can’t reinvent shoes, and the shape is dictated by the foot. There will always be similarities—that’s unavoidable.

It’s the same with amigurumi. There are so many owls out there now, and many look alike, but that’s just what an owl looks like.

Best regards, Mario

The two aren’t the same. But these are the same: Elephants by kertupertu—two different photos, but in my opinion, the same pattern

It seems like the monkeys from kertupertu are also the same pattern in both cases. To me, the descriptions and prices are identical

Yes, they’re the same.
But even at WoolAffair, there are the same shoes with different appliqués or bows; at Natalija’s, the same Converse—sometimes pink, sometimes blue, with hearts or flowers—come in many variations; and at kandjdolls, there is even the exact same photo twice with Halloween figures.
So I actually assumed this was allowed...

I totally get it. Is it the same with the gallery? People are still uploading ads there...

I’m not really sure if it’s a good idea to discuss topics like this in the public section of the forum. Would you agree to move this thread to the authors’ section?

This thread was started by a “non-seller”; I don’t think moving it would be a good idea. However, I would hide the inappropriate comments from public view (including this one) and introduce forum rules for sellers.

Dear designers,
Dear Karonana,

I contacted Natalija. She says the socks look similar, but the pattern and a few other details are actually different. I think this discussion can stay here. We’re all reasonable people and can tell the difference between speculation and facts.

Best regards
Alexander

I also think this thread can stay here. My previous post on this was meant purely as an observation and was in no way judgmental.
Personally, I’d also view posting the same pattern multiple times with different photos as a positive thing.

Here’s why:
One person might be drawn to a pink shoe, while another might prefer a blue one. The latter might not have bought the pattern at all if it only featured pink shoes. Just to give an example. But the buyer isn’t going to buy the same pattern twice—once in pink and once in blue. So it wouldn’t really be a disadvantage for the other sellers, would it?
I actually see posting patterns with multiple photos as a great way to show how versatile the pattern is and how many different ways the buyer can make use of it.
Best regards, Nici

Hi

If there are the same Halloween figures in my shop, that’s a mistake.

Best regards
