Have you discovered the commission marketplace yet? That’s where requests and similar offers are collected. Of course, you’ll need to check with the pattern provider to see if that’s okay.
Otherwise, you can also look through the comments under the posts on the Crazypatterns Facebook page—there are regularly people there looking in the comments for someone like you who can make something for them. But the same applies to these custom orders: it’s better to check with the pattern provider again about what is and isn’t allowed for the particular pattern.

How about specializing in making scarves and hats?
That way, you can discuss colors and patterns with the buyer, so you won’t even need a pattern. For example, something like a green hat with a white pom-pom (just an example) crocheted with half double crochet stitches and single crochet stitches around the brim—you can totally make that without a pattern. Scarves and hats are going to be in high demand soon. Then you’ll just need to ask for the head circumference. And for scarves, just ask for the desired length and width, the desired pattern, and whether they want fringe or not.
You can definitely make a lot of people happy that way.
