Selling crochet patterns?

Hi everyone, I’ve just created my very first pattern. I based it on a picture and adapted it the way I thought was best. But the character is from a well-known movie. What do I need to keep in mind if I want to sell it? Can I even sell it?

I strongly advise against selling the pattern. You’re not allowed to offer it for free either. Just come up with your own ideas—that way, you’ll be on the safe side.

Please create your own designs based on your own ideas.

Precisely because this is such a sensitive issue, there’s no pattern like that!

That could lead to a _very expensive_ legal warning.
I would recommend not only to you, but to all other authors as well, to definitely keep your hands off it.
Patterns like that only bring trouble. It’s not worth it.

Please come up with your own designs and write patterns for them.
