Not just for Easter!
BIGGI & Co. are welcome “guests” at parties, during carnival, or anytime at all.
an
ideal way to use up leftover yarn.
Quick and easy to knit in one TV evening, they make a last-minute little gift for any occasion.
Basic knitting skills are enough.
We knit in rounds with a set of double-pointed needles. If you don’t want to make a double long-tail cast-on, you can alternatively knit 4 rounds in garter stitch (= 2 x 1 round purl stitches, 1 round knit stitches) so that the egg cozy doesn’t roll up. Embellishments are possible as desired and according to your own creativity.
Materials:
Basically, any yarn can be used with a slightly smaller needle size than stated on the label.
1 egg cozy: approx. 10 g – 15 g yarn (leftover) + small leftover yarn for decorating;
here: set of double-pointed needles 4.0 and crochet hook approx. 3.0 for “tying in the hair”;
yarn needle for sewing in ends, sewing needle and buttons (safety eyes) if needed, measuring tape, scissors.
Recommendation:
safety eyes if the egg cozies are used for small children as
amigurumi .
Included in the PDF download:
- Quick pattern in text form, written for yarns with approx. 105 m yardage per 50 g
- Step-by-step illustrated pattern, written for yarns with approx. 85 m yardage per 50 g
