Crocheting a pot holder // heart-shaped and practical (not an ad)

Dear users, dear authors,
every now and then there are patterns in the shop that I really like, such as these pot holders.

The shape is decorative and would also be perfect for Valentine’s Day.
It’s practical, too, because you can slip your hands inside and get a good grip on the pot lid or handle. I also like the colors—they make a nice contrast.

Who likes this pot holder?

Optisch wirklich hübsch und definitiv mal was besonderes! 

Für mich sind Topflappen ein muss. Ich habe mindestens immer 2 Paar  in der Küche hängen und gerne auch etwas grössere, da ich sie oft auch als Topfuntersetzer nutze.

Of course, I see the advantages—especially that they keep your fingers from getting burned. This is especially useful with hot baking sheets or casserole dishes. For grilling, gloves are more suitable.
The downside, in my opinion, is that they quickly lose their appeal because they can get too hot and develop dark stains that won’t come out even after washing.
That’s why, to be honest, I’ve only crocheted pot holders once and gave them to my mother-in-law. But she thinks they’re far too pretty and too nice to use, so they’re hanging in the kitchen as decoration.
Personally, I bought some cheap ones that really aren’t pretty anymore and just sit in the drawer when they’re not needed.

I’m a fan of potholders too. Since I want to learn how to crochet this year, crocheting potholders for the whole family is the perfect place to start.
