Cozy Monday (not an advertising thread)

Dear users, dear authors,
today is going to be a good day. New Year's Eve is in 347 days and Christmas is in 342 days. So you can already start working toward that. :- )
I've ordered a cozy and good Monday for everyone, with pleasant working hours without overtime and stress, as well as nice conversations with other people, including bakery sales assistants for buying fresh rolls.

The most important question of all:
Who built the snowman and who rode the sled?

Good morning!

It wasn’t me—unfortunately, there’s no snow here...

In a bit, I’ll take my youngest along while I drop off my second-youngest at daycare, then get to my daily tasks and later work on a new pattern... I still need some great photos for that...

Wishing you all a healthy and happy start to the week!

Best regards, Nina

Good morning!
I’m on the early shift today. Officially, it goes until 5 p.m., but since it was quiet yesterday too and my colleague comes in at 2 p.m., I’m hoping I might be able to leave as early as 4 p.m.
I’ve got the house to myself tonight and will be holed up in my sewing room for the rest of the day.
I was just getting frustrated with crocheting. I bought some really cute yarn on sale; I wanted to crochet a specific hat with it, but I didn’t have enough yarn, so I unraveled it and crocheted a different hat. This time I had enough yarn, but the hat is ugly!

There’s no snow here either, just slush!
I also wish everyone a lovely start to the week

Good morning,

On Saturday, I secretly thought to myself how much I’d love to have a day off.

Great. Since I had to work on Saturday, I actually have the day off today. The rest of the family, however, doesn’t. On the contrary—even the kids have afternoon classes today.

Instead of building a snowman, I’ve already cleared the driveway. I sorted the laundry, stripped the beds, and got the washing machine back up and running.

And now I’m going to do some crocheting and actually complain about the lack of stress.

I’d actually like to have more on my schedule today—or at least have my family around me.

Wishing you all a great start to the week.

Warm regards, Birgit

@ Birgit,

if you don’t have enough work, you’re very warmly invited!

Today it was time to scrub the dining room tables (yes, I put 2 tables together). With CIF and muscle power, I completed my workout this morning. I do wonder how my family eats—given what it always looks like :-(

The cooking is done... the washing machine and dryer are running, the trash cans have been hauled out, and what feels like 100 animals have been fed... and now it’s time to CROCHET :-)

Good morning everyone

You all get so much done. Wonderful. I'm going to bustle around in the kitchen, then jump onto the needles for about an hour, have lunch, and then do the weekly shopping. Oh yes, two books are arriving for me today.
Since here in the new items there are 10% wool things and 90% crochet things to be seen, my resolution for 2017 has become?
I'm learning to crochet. You can still learn to crochet at 71.
I'm really looking forward to it and am totally excited.

Wishing everyone a lovely creative day. Here in Basel it was just snowing, but it isn't sticking. Sugar-dusted trees are very beautiful, though. At least. We are only 460 m above sea level, after all.

Yours, Jana

A cozy Monday? Fat chance! I have the flu and am stuck in bed. And I don’t feel like doing anything, least of all doing any needlework.

@Sabine: No way. I went shoe shopping. That’s one way to pass the morning. Even my workout routine is letting me down. Rest day!

@ Ruth: Get well soon

@Birgit... yuck, you’re going shoe shopping—no Springwolle?

@Nadeleule... get well soon!

That just goes to show you’re never too old to try something new. :-)
I hope you have fun with your first attempts at crocheting.

@Ruth
No one really needs that.... Get well soon.

We’re heading to the car dealership today to check out a new car. Since I’ll be taking my driving test soon, we’ve been looking around now and then over the past few weeks, and now it’s getting serious. ;-)
Now I’m going to work a little more on my new pattern, and tonight the sofa will be occupied for some crocheting. :-)

Have a great start to the week, everyone.

Get well soon to those who are sick!

Today I’ve already managed 2 x 20-minute walks to and from the train station, 2 x 24-minute train rides, 2 x 50-minute walks from the station to the doctor’s office and back, plus a 45-minute stroll through town.
It was (despite the early hour—I left the house at 6:30 a.m.) very pleasant to walk in the fresh, but very cold, air.
Now the door wreath is staring at me, waiting for the crocheted roses. However, tiredness is also setting in here in the warm living room. Let’s see who wins the race for my attention ... lol.

I’m always amazed at what everyone manages to get done in the morning.
For me, I barely managed to get out of bed and drive to work. I’d like to make good use of the afternoon now. Studying and doing homework with the kids, trying to get my son to give me back the book I borrowed (he thinks my book is better than his), and reading a little.
A beauty routine is also on the agenda today—so my husband will find me beautiful and sexy (I know he always does, but I think I need the beauty routine so I can feel that way, too).

Crocheting isn’t really on my agenda today. But I know I can’t go a day without some kind of craft, so I’m sure I’ll find a minute or two for it.

@Ruth: Get well soon from me, too.
@ Birgit: Did you get the shoes?
@Sabine: You can’t just buy wool! :-)
@Michaela: What kind of car is it going to be?

I’m actually already done for the day and already home. I’m about to start sewing :-)

@Arni,

Oh yes... a woman can. There's always a color missing, or something else..... There's a name for that illness: yarn addiction :-)

@Sabine: I know that feeling too. But sometimes it has to be shoes, handbags, or whatever else.
:-))))

@Arni,

but only if it absolutely has to be :-)

I admit it: I’d rather go shopping at the hardware store; unfortunately my husband always rushes through there so quickly!
 Yarn anyway, and as for a bag, I got my first one from my mother about 10 years ago. She thought I couldn’t very well carry my wallet in my pants pocket to an important appointment. I only defended my self-crocheted one. Yes, in this case I have, believe it or not, 2 bags :-). I never really needed them anyway: there was always so much room in the stroller ;-)

@Arni
It’s going to be a black Skoda Rapid sedan.
The contract is signed, and the little car will be here in about 8–12 weeks. *excited*

@Sabine: I used to be the same way...
But my sweetheart changed me. He absolutely loves shopping, and now I enjoy it too. Over the past 7 years, I’ve added about 10 handbags and a few pairs of shoes to my collection. By now I’m a proper girl. :-)

@Michaela:
The Rapid is a really lovely car. I’m happy for you. My husband is getting a Skoda Superb (or something like that) as a company car in March or April. He’s already as pleased as punch. The S-Bahn is enough for me, and if necessary I can steal his. I don’t think you need two cars in Hamburg.

@Arni
I also think the Superb is really stylish. But for us, just in terms of size, it would be a bit too big after all. The Rapid is just right for us.
Yes, in Hamburg you don’t necessarily need a car. The S-Bahn and U-Bahn network is so good there. I used to be in Hamburg often, always without a car.
