Dear users, dear authors,
Granny squares are a timeless favorite. Many people only know crocheted versions, but they can also be knitted. Discover beautiful patterns for granny squares here, and then make something pretty with them—maybe a blanket to snuggle up in?

Authors,
please share relevant patterns here. As always, don’t forget to include a link, an image, and text with information about the materials, technique, difficulty level, and what makes the pattern special.

I designed two granny squares that match in size, so you can either crochet them individually for a blanket or pillows, or crochet them together in one project.

Just take a look—maybe it’s exactly right for you.

This beautiful potholder is crocheted from several grannies.
All the grannies are 6-sided, worked like a hexagon.
The making of the grannies is explained in great detail and step by step in my pattern. You can crochet so many wonderful things from them, such as blankets, table doilies, clothing, and much more.

Crochet pattern: 6-sided potholder (double), hexagon

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: intermediate

Granny squares are a wonderful thing—it’s actually a shame that I don’t have many of them in my patterns. But I did find one: it’s the little bag that comes with each of my three crocheted board games.

Maybe you’d like to crochet a “Mensch-ärgere-dich-nicht” game with a matching granny square bag for your children or grandchildren? That would also make a lovely, personal birthday gift.

Warm regards—Ina
