What projects are you currently working on? (No promotional posts)

what are you working on right now? Are these all Christmas projects?

Dear Josefa,

I finished my last Christmas gift yesterday. After that, I had a brief moment of panic—what do I do now???
But it only lasted a second, because I still had a few UFOs lying around.

+ So now I’m finally finishing the claws and spines for my daughter’s dragon. Then he’s supposed to get some spooky teeth, too.
+ The cozy blanket for my son has already gotten nice and big and is growing steadily.
+ And then I’m still tinkering with a new project that isn’t quite coming together, but good things take time, and I’m sure I’ll get it done.
+ Only the hat for my friend is the kind of project I’ll probably give up on soon. I really do a lot of things with enthusiasm. It’s just hats and socks that always drive me to despair. But here, too, practice makes perfect, and the next winter is sure to come.......
+ I gave up on the hat for my daughter because I got such a beautiful hand-knitted one for her at the Christmas market, and she’s soooo happy with it—a huge thank you to everyone who sells handmade items at Christmas markets!

I don’t have any Christmas projects, because I don’t give away anything I’ve crocheted myself for Christmas; it’s simply too stressful for me on top of the general Christmas preparation stress, especially since that somehow seems to get worse every year...
I prefer to give away the things I crochet myself for birthdays or just now and then.

If I happen to have time to crochet at the moment, I have a large selection of projects I’ve started, a shawl, a scarf, an infinity scarf, and various amigurumis, from which I pick one depending on my mood, or I start something new because I’ve had an idea buzzing around in my head for days.
One project is good when I’m still awake, another when I’m tired, yet another when I want to experiment, and so on ...

My Christmas season is over with the new door wreath; I did have a few more things planned, but I won’t be able to finish them—that’ll probably remain a UFO until Christmas 2017.
Now I’d like to make a few snowflakes, but not out of origami paper—I’ll use photo cardstock instead—really big ones to hang in the windows. I’m also hard at work developing an idea for the February color challenge. And a window garland for Valentine’s Day—which didn’t get finished in time last year—is also in the works. A few mini gift bags for the same occasion are also taking shape. I’d also like to make some new little baskets and am currently sketching and gathering ideas. And I’m experimenting with felt sheets right now—I’m planning to make keychains and bag charms out of them; we’ll see if it works out. So, as always, there’s plenty to do :-).

I’ve actually started another Christmas project. I want to knit my husband a nice scarf. Patterns suitable for men are a bit different from what I usually make. But I think it’s going to turn out really nice. And in his favorite color—blue. ☺☺
