I’d like to say “HELLO”...

I’m still pretty new here—I just opened my little shop this week and have been working my way through everything bit by bit.

My name is Nici, and I live in beautiful Swabia, near Ulm.
I’ve been happily married for 5 years and am incredibly lucky to have 3 wonderful boys (14, 11, and 2) and 3 great jobs...What more could you ask for?
When I’m not sitting in the living room or garden with some yarn and a crochet hook, I’m playing with my youngest or out walking the dog. (Of course, it’s easy to combine the two: go for a walk with the dog and my kid, stop at the playground, and crochet while the little one plays in the sand ;-)

I’m curious to see how everything works here and what kind of people I’ll meet.
A few of my items have already been purchased—I was really surprised that it happened so quickly.

I also have a quick question. I first signed up as a user with my nickname (Zimtstern) and only later thought of selling here as well. That’s why I’d now like to use my business name as my username. Can anyone give me a tip on how to change that?

Well then, warm regards

to everyone, Nici

Hi Nici,
glad you’re here. You have some really great items in your shop. Since our second grandchild is due in a few days, I’ve already bought one of your patterns—the headband. I crocheted it using leftover yarn, and it turned out really nice. I’ll definitely be crocheting more, though—I just need to find some stretchy yarn.
Best wishes
Ingrid

Hello Nici,
welcome to crazypatterns and to the forum as well. I hope you have lots of fun here.
Zimtstern is actually a great name. But if you'd like to change it again, you can contact the operator via the contact form
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/contacts/support
The operator may be following this thread anyway, so you can sort it out directly.
I wish you lots of success selling your patterns

 Dear Ingrid,

I’m glad you were able to follow the pattern easily, and thank you so much for the great review :-)

This pattern fascinated me right from the start, too. It’s easy to crochet but yields a charming result. I also started with the headband. First one, and then lots more in different colors and sizes.

I mostly used this yarn:

http://www.sockenwolleparadies.de/Sockenwolle-Baumwolle/ONline-Cotton-Stretch/ONline-Cotton-Stretch-Fb-0001-weiss::3549.html

or, for the colored ones, this one:
http://www.sockenwolleparadies.de/Sockenwolle-Baumwolle/Schoeller-Cotton-Stretch/Schoeller-Stahl-Cotton-Stretch-Batik-2-Fb-56::2157.html

It’s perfect for summer—nice and thin and light.

Best regards

Nici

Hello muetzekatze,

yes, I love it too ;-) that’s why it’s always the name I use when I sign up for forums and the like.
However, my little company is called Sternen-Welt, so that should be listed too, especially since the billing and everything else will later be handled under Sternen-Welt.
When I first started my own business, I actually called myself Zimtstern too. But only until I realized there was already a company with that name — you don’t want to get into trouble, after all....
Thanks for the tip
Best regards and have a lovely day

Nici

Dear Nici,

that’s so sweet of you to give me a tip right away on where to find stretch yarn. That saves me the trouble of searching, and I think I’ll order some today. I’m already looking forward to more patterns from you.

Best regards,
Ingrid

Hi Nicole,

thank you so much, *waving back*
I had no idea you were here too—glad you replied.

Cute picture of the three of you, by the way :-) How old are those two little ones?

Best regards

Nici

Hi Nici :)

The big one is 12 and the little one will soon be 3. And they’re definitely cute, but they can also be quite a handful....lol

It’s just a pretty small crowd here :-)

Best regards,
Petra

Yes, that’s probably true, Petra :)

There’s definitely more going on on Facebook, but I still still prefer forums because it’s simply easier to keep track of things and to find your own posts again. I have that problem with many Facebook groups—if there isn’t another Like or comment, with so many posts appearing in such a short time.

A wave from Nici

Wow, Nici, he didn’t look that “big” in the picture—then they’re almost the same age as mine :-)

I also prefer smaller forums with like-minded people. I do still have a Facebook page, but I don’t use it

:D Yeah, I often feel that way about my older one. But because of his disability, he looks younger and doesn’t always act his age. (Except for his teenage outbursts—those are totally age-appropriate.) He’s autistic.

On the other hand, my little one is often mistaken for being older because he takes after his dad and towers over kids his own age....lol

How old are your little ones?

The oldest is 14—right in the middle of puberty, but he’s been such a joy to have around—no problems at all so far.
The middle one is 11, and the youngest is 2 1/2. With him, unfortunately, we have the opposite problem. We have to go get him weighed and measured every two months because he’s too small (he’s 84 cm now), but then again, his parents aren’t exactly “giants” either :D

Best, Nici

Oh, that’s lovely too :) about the older one. My middle child would be 9 years old now. I’m only 1.65 m tall myself, but my partner is over 1.80 m, and if my great-grandmother’s height of 1.98 m comes through as well, I don’t even want to speculate on how tall the “little one” will end up being.....lol

So now you’re entering that wonderful “terrible twos” phase with the little one, right? He is a bit on the short side, but I think it’s good that you’re having him checked regularly.

Waves, Nici
