Knitting Socks with 2 Needles (Not an Ad Thread)

there’s actually a trick for anyone who finds using 5 needles too much when knitting socks. Could you explain it again here? Thanks, and have fun.

You can also use two short circular needles instead of a set of double-pointed needles (5 needles). In this case, half of the total stitches are cast on onto each needle.

You can also use one long circular needle and knit both socks at the same time on a single needle.  Of course, you then have to work with two balls of yarn at the same time.
To do this, first cast on half of the total stitches for the first sock (using ball 1), then half of the second sock (ball 2).  Now pull the needle through a bit and cast on the second half of the second sock (ball 2). Finally, cast on the remaining stitches for the first sock (using ball 1 again).
After that, knit the socks in the round as usual.  You just mustn’t forget to switch the working yarn. :-)

Socks can be knitted beautifully with the Magic Loop method on one circular knitting needle.
I always do it this way because handling a set of double-pointed needles is too “fiddly” for me.
