Dear users, dear authors,
what are you working on right now? How are things going for you? Are you facing any challenges or problems with your crafts? Is there something you really want to make—for example, for Christmas—but you’re stuck? Post it here; there’s sure to be a user or author who can help.
Have fun!

I finished my last project a few days ago.
My needles are idle right now; with my father’s funeral tomorrow, I’m not in the mood for new designs at the moment.
I think I’ll be able to get going again this weekend...

@Michaela, my deepest condolences.

I’m currently updating an older window decoration pattern of mine for CP, but that’s really just computer work. Other than that, I’m just finishing up some Christmas tree ornaments. While working on those, I happened to come up with another Christmas tree decoration idea, which I’m now working out as well, and then there are the gift-wrapping houses—I’ve been working on them for a month now, and for some reason, they just won’t get finished :-).

Dear Michaela, I’d also like to offer my sincere condolences.

I’m currently working on a crocheted poncho (my own design) for my friend, whose birthday is in early November, but this darn thing isn’t “growing” as fast as I’d like it to. I’m slowly starting to panic a little that I won’t finish it in time, because with such large projects I always have this silly habit of squeezing in small projects in between to escape the monotony of the color (the poncho is going to be black)... So I guess I’ll have to work a little faster now....

Dear Michaela,

I’d also like to offer you my sincere condolences!

As for the actual question:

I’m working on various hat designs, different wrist warmers, a poncho-style wrap, and children’s mittens...
Plus some small Christmas decorations...
I’ll keep posting the results as I go.

Best regards, Nina

@Michaela, my condolences again!

@everyone: I’m still working my way through the kids’ and relatives’ “Christmas wish lists”.... somehow I just can’t seem to finish—can you “divorce” your relatives or something? :-)
@Nina, please ask your husband! If it doesn’t work out, I’ll just keep them after all.

In the meantime, I’ve knitted my first two dog sweaters, since my daughter’s boss has a dog that gets cold.
The sweater I’ve started for my husband is sitting in the basket; it’s grown to 20 cm and is now hibernating—somehow it’ll be finished before Christmas too—at least that’s what I hope :-)

  The only problem is with my crochet hooks… I’m their worst enemy—every single one breaks on me.
And that’s why my poor husband has to go down to the basement tomorrow and make me some… yeah, yeah, how noble, but at least I’ll get them handmade, and then I’ll be back at it :-) The test piece has already lasted for three crocheted animals.

Hugs, Sabine

@Sabine

Hehehe....if THAT were possible, we'd already be rid of quite a few relatives :)
Apparently falling out helps *laughs*

But I'd still rather keep mine...

Best wishes - Nina

Thank you all so much for your kind words.
I’ll be glad when tomorrow is over and I can really get back to it. I’m starting to get withdrawal symptoms. :-)

I don’t think there’s any hope for me... I’m currently unraveling a hat for the third time—it was already completely finished and even photographed, but then I noticed a few details in the photos that I really didn’t like at all. So, gritting my teeth, grumble grumble grumble, unraveling it, and starting all over again. I hope I can get it done before winter is over....

@fil-art-aus,
I know what you mean—unfortunately, there isn’t a support group for that yet

I’m currently—or rather, still—working on a poncho that seems to be turning into a “never-ending project.” It’s crocheted in rounds and consists mainly of double crochet stitches in a repeating fan pattern. It’s actually simple, but as I mentioned, very time-consuming. I should mention that I’ve only been crocheting for just under 3 months now. At first, I could only do chain stitches. I taught myself everything online. Still, I really enjoy it... I think crocheting is my thing!!
Best wishes, Elke

@Elke: You’ve really taken on a mammoth project there! I’ve been crocheting for quite a while now (I taught myself everything from the internet and books), but I feel for you—my poncho also seems like it’ll never be finished! Have fun with it and don’t give up! You can post a picture of the finished poncho in the gallery.

I’m really enjoying this… if I ever manage to finish it!!
I chose black because you don’t notice the little mistakes as much… at least, that’s what I’m hoping. I never would have thought that a poncho would be soooo much work. Yesterday I already crocheted a collar onto it because I didn’t want to wait until it was finally the right length.
Thanks for your encouragement. I’m already feeling better. I was almost convinced that it was just me—that it felt like I wasn’t making any progress on the poncho at all! It really is a mammoth project!
Best regards, Elke

Hi everyone,

I’m currently crocheting the "blanket with hearts" using a pattern from "Red Heart".
The pattern is free.
I crocheted the first blanket in 2014 during my rehab. It took me 6 weeks.
I’m almost halfway through this one now. It has to be finished by Christmas because I’d like to give it to my daughter.
After that, I’ll continue with baby things for my niece and a sweater for my little dog.

Best regards

Dear Michaela, I’d also like to offer my deepest condolences. I wish you and your family all the best.

Once again, I’m working on 100 things at once...
A virus shawl that I need by Tuesday as a birthday gift, a dinosaur C2C pillow (I wanted to show you—the first dinosaur is finished and will be in the gallery soon :)), doll clothes for my grandma (she gave me a naked doll that’s supposed to go to its new doll mom tonight), still Christmas gifts,... and then the amigurumi for my latest pattern has been looming menacingly in front of me for weeks, just waiting to be finished...

Sigh, if only I had more hands and didn’t need any sleep...

@Elke: That’s funny—my poncho is black, too, and just last night I was thinking about starting on the collar early… but I’m going to finish the bottom first and save the (rolled) collar for last…

Dear Michaela, my condolences as well. I just read about it. You’ll need to be strong tomorrow. After that, I hope you’ll be able to find some peace with a little crocheting or knitting.

At the moment, I’m crocheting the little Christmas elves by ursulapetra. I think they’re so cute. I’m crocheting them with thin yarn and a 1.0 mm hook, though. That makes them even cuter. The first one is almost done.

Dear Michaela
my heartfelt condolences from me too, and wishing you lots of strength.

I have just finished a commissioned pattern and am waiting for the English translation for 3 completed patterns, so I can publish them directly in both English and German. Unfortunately, my experience has been that an English translation added later doesn’t get noticed.
And then hopefully the Christmas business will get going.
Now I finally want to try my hand at a knitted poncho; the idea has been floating around in my head for a long time.

@everyone
Thank you all so much.
Now this hurdle is behind us, and we can look ahead.
From now on, it’s time for me to get going again and start something new on the needles. ☺
