Dear community,
Do you have any tips for crocheting / knitting / sewing summer clothing?
Please upload only your own photos.
When it comes to sewing, I’d only sew summer clothes from breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, or silk. These natural materials allow air to circulate, wick moisture away from the body, and thus prevent excessive sweating. This applies not only to clothing but also to bedding.
Since I also love beautiful patterns, my eye is sometimes drawn to other beautifully patterned fabrics as well. But when I read that it’s made of 100% polyester, I’m out. Polyester fabric consists of synthetic fibers derived mainly from petroleum. The base material is the thermoplastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET)—the same material used to make plastic bottles. Would you want to wear clothes made from that??? I wouldn’t.
Best regards, Ina
P.S. Here are a few pictures of my favorite summer fabric for 2026: muslin (100% cotton)
