Pattern for the Pumpkin Doll (blog/3374)

Hello,

My name is Roswitha and I have the pattern for the project mentioned above. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble with the instruction in each case (inc).

For example, Rnd 1: at the end it says inc (=20 sts). Does that refer to ....1 sc in each of the next 7 sts or 3 sc in the next st?

Rnd 2: the same as in Rnd 1

Rnd 3: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, inc, 1 sc in each of the next 8 sts, inc, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, inc, 1 sc in each of the next 8 sts, inc, sc in the next st (=30 sts)
(here I have no idea at all where and what I’m supposed to double.)

Could someone perhaps describe the instruction in more detail for me?

There’s a comma before and after it, and if you count the stitches, it adds up—so “verd.” means “once.”
For Round 3, that’s 2 single crochets, increase once, 8 single crochets, increase once, and so on—then it also adds up to 30.

thank you very much for your note, but I’m still not quite sure—does “verd” mean that the last stitch in each set of stitches should be worked twice?

No, not the last one—an extra one. So, crochet 2 stitches normally, then double the third, then crochet 8 stitches normally, double the ninth, and so on.
